[/quote] If you refer to a decent season by winning a state title you are way off the mark with that one.  If that were the case only about 12 teams each yr would have successful seasons.  Look back to when Kirbyville was one of the smallest 3A teams in the state yet advanced to the 3rd round 3-4 yrs.  WE as fans can look past games all we want....i promise you that the coaches and players aren't looking past anyone.

All Kville is to me is a crosstown rivalry , once the regular season is over I allways hope that Kville will make it far in the playoffs if Newton loses out before Kville you can bet I will be listening to see if they win . Same goes for our other rival Jasper. I would Love to see JASPER NEWTON AND KIRBYVILLE to win state championships in the same year , it probably will never happen but wouldn't that be nice. Overall..sure there is a talent difference.  But to say an outstanding back at a smaller school is not as good/less talented etc than one playing in a larger classification is a fallacy. There is a reason D1 schools recriut at the lower levels as well. Saying a 2A all-state QB couldnt start on most 4A or 5A teams is lunacy. Recent 2A all state QBs are now playing at places like [b]Texas A&M (We Wood, Muleshoe), [/b] Kansas State (kid from Mart, dont remember his name) , and the University of Texas (Colt McCoy) Jim Ned. That last guy..a 2A QB happens to be a Hiesmann frontrunner for a second consecutive year.  Oh..btw in the his final high school game against San Augustine his offense was held to 7 points.  Against that "weak competetion" you are so derisive of. As far as backs go..a local 2A back went on to play D1 ball last year(Jackson, Kirbyville).  Are you telling me he is good enough to be offered scholarships to Rice, A&M, Baylor, and SMU but not good enough to start on a 4A high school team? [/quote] I have some hand load 63 grain that my dad made for me.  I've seen it destroy vitals out to 100 yards with the 55 grain SPBT.  Not many people realize how much damage they will cause.  What grain do you shoot?  I may have to look into the Federal bonded.

If Kirbyville takes care of business and gets through the 3rd round (most likely Arp) they have a great shot.  As for Newton it is the same senario...get past Dangerfield and their shot is good too.  But both teams MUST take care of business.
