1. Bottom line is the knowledge that he brings to the table to help Vanya is worth it's weight in gold.  Add Rod Gulley (played under WT and went on to start and star at McNeese...not to mention picking me off in a game against them in HS! ;D) and you have a scary group of defensive minded coaches running rough shot in Kville!  Just think...they are a heavy Jr laden team. As for Alvarez he has input into the calls on offense....Neece is the O-Coordinator....they both work great together calling plays.
Lefty99, nobody is worried about Arp, they haven't played anybody and not to mention Kirbyville is loaded with young talent as well.
I know what I am talking about....I have only broadcast the Wildcats for the past 2 yrs. ::)  If you sleep on Arp you will get busted...that I promise you!  Kirbyville is very talented as is Arp, but if Kirbyville gets there I promise you that they will know who Arp is.  They knew that last yr by sneaking that win out.  Arp has more veteran talent than Kirbyville.  Seniors is what I mean.    I have all the faith in Kirbyville to make a deep run but you might want to check the cockiness at the door when it gets that deep in the playoffs.  Kirbyville will have to be able to throw the ball better and better each week leading up to that game as long as they get there.
 3. I believe that ther will only be 2 teams from each district.  16 districts...32 playoff spots.  That is the way that 1A DI & DII are.

It was good to see lights out defense for the third week in a row. Good luck this week against the Wolves and I wonder if the train whistle will be allowed in SA? (probably not)
Kirbyville will make it back to state, their defense is looking better than ever. Kirbyville had a big penality that was in Woodville favor to be at our 2 yard line and our D hitt 'em in the mouth.....I love it, I love it!!! :D
Easy with the bold predictions...nothing wrong with the confidence but the road to state will most likey go through Arp and they are loaded this yr.  One game at a time.
 5.
I would love to see some playoff games at DKR in Austin.
It is nice to see a game at those big college stadiums....got to witness Kirbyville and China Spring at Kyle Field 3 yrs ago.  Can be very intimidating for some teams though.
 6.
All the other sports State Championship games are in Austin. I wouldn't be surprised if the UIL puts the football championships there as well
That's my feeling on this....it is the most centrally located place in the state no matter what school is in it.  Yes, there will alwyas be someone closer than the other. My only thing is that it is much easier for 4A & 5A to travel to these predetermined site than most 3A-1A teams.  Coaches need to have the choice in the matter....especially the smaller schools.
 7.
I wonder if that's suppose to be Buda and not Buna?
I believe that Buda is 4A...got to be a typo.
 8. Based off of these numbers I would say probably 445 give or take a few.  These are UIL Biennial Reclassifications Numbers. 2002-2003 & 2003-2004 2A 180 to 344 2004-2005 & 2005-2006 2A 190 to 389 2006-2007 & 2007-2008 2A 195 to 414 2008-2009 & 2009-2010 2A 200 to 429
 9.
The cutoff numbers haven't came out yet.  They probably won't comeout or be heard about til just before the new alignments are made.  there is really no use in guessing.  based on the past however the numbers for cutoff have almost always went up by 10-20.  I would think that with Kirbyville's snapshot enrollment only up 6 from last time to 432, they will remain a terror in 2A.
I agree...it has been a trend going up that much over the last 10 yrs or so.
 10. Eaglefan01, are you kiddin?? Who has Arp played......NOBODY!!! This game shouldn't been close, Kirbyville had I don't know how many muffed punts last year. Arp had a good team, but the better team won. Thats crazy for you to get on here and say Kirbyville don't have enough to stay close this season. I guess you don't think we have enough to beat Newton either huh? Not crazy just true. and if you google Muleshoe football you will 4 games on line fron 2009. This year. # 20 and # 44 are in the back field. check it out. Good looiking football team. Now if they have 2 differant guys that look and run the same with the same numbers well that's possible I guess. Kville will get beat by 30 points by Arp. You might want to check you facts about the players from Muleshoe. Both Wood's...Wes and Lane (cousins)graduated last yr along with their best WR. They have another converted WR to QB this yr tht is a Sr I believe. Same thing that Wes Wood did last yr as a Sr. If you would have looked at the QB for Kville for about 5 yrs you would've seen the same #5 if you didn't know what you were looking at....yet for 2 yrs it was Drew Hzlewood and then for 3 it was younger brother Aaron. Same number doesn't mean same player yr after yr.
 11. Part of me wants to pull for Jasper because they are a SE Texas team, but I have family that goes to Carthage so I have to pull for them. Blood first..sorry. Should be a good game. Carthage just has too much experience and depth for Jasper. Carthage by 10.
