The only thing about Musgrove is that he doesn't want to play college football, only baseball which he is better at if you can believe it. Walters yes, and most definately Hazlewood! Kid has tons of heart, talent, and is very fast. Small but you are starting to see alot of small guys in big rolls in college football. Heck, Toderick Pendland(spl) from Newton is starting at RB for McNeese and is 175 lbs soaking wet, and is doing a great job!

The QB is a Sr. and they will lose alot to graduation this yr. I counted something like 12-14 Sr. on their reg. season roster of 24. Yea I saw that too.. thank god he will not be around next year..LOL Hats off to muleshoe..they played an awesome game!!! Tough competitors! Yep, they came out and punched us in the mouth and we couldn't recover! Proud of the boys for never giving up until the game was over. Always left it all on the field and that is all that you can ask of a team!

To add a little fuel to the fire that has been set I have run a few stats. Sorry no defensive stats. Couldn't find any. A Hazelwood-QB 106 - 182 58% completion 2119 yrds 20yd/comp. 25TDs 9 INTs B. Jackson-RB/FS 154 - 1145 7.43 yds/rush 14 TDs not to mention that he was a beast on Defense along with Walters! R. Musgrove-WR/DB 50rec. - 870 yds 17.4yds/catch 14 TDs I am sorry but if you have a team that gets to the DI title game in any classification you probably have more than 3 players that have the stats to be at least 2nd team All-State! No disrespect to Anahuac but the only person I saw on that team worthy of All-State was D. McNeil. Not to mention that Newton had a few other players that most likely deserved the honor! It is a crying shame that these boys put in the hard work to do what they did this yr and poof they lose by 22pts and they don't deserve to be 1st or 2nd team. Just goes to show you that these so called experts that vote don't read the box scores. They just look at the final and make a "educated guess"! Reminds me of last year when P. Rhodes got honorable mention when he ran for 1900 yds! As Ryker said, Politics, politics, politics!!! It is a shame! Ok, I'll get off the soap box

First things first...Congrats on a great season Wildcats! Also, to the Muleshow Mules on a great season! Very proud of the sportsmanship that both teams displayed last night! Coach Wood and Alvarez have modeled their programs the way they all should be! Kuddos to Coach Alvarez and his staff on a great season! To the players on the team...Keep those chins up! You have nothing to be ashamed of, and you have made Kirbyville and SETexas very proud of what you did this season! I personally want to thank these boys for giving this old Wildcat a season he will never forget. I spoke with Alvarez before the game and another coach that coached me in HS at Kville that still patrols the sideline. We discussed what a great honor it was to be playing in a state title game after so many years of frustration and working back to becoming a successful program with alot of pride and honor! Fans and players from both towns had the wide eyed look on their faces before the game and it was amazing to be able to walk on the field before the game and mix in the action a little bit to see what it was like for the players. Gave even me a few chills down the old spine to be in that atmosphere! SETXsports.com....I also want to thank you for allowing myself and Dennis to broadcast these games all year. It has been my honor to work for you and with you. We had our times where we had conflicts with Ike and a few others but we got through them! The tireless effort on our parts to get these games out for people to hear was a huge success. We can't make everyone happy but that is the nature of the beast and I don't apologize one bit for anything! We are volunteer's not professionals, and yet people expect to hear Joe Buck and Troy Aikman! Sorry folks but you aren't going to get that from us! This is like a part time gig and we have other lives outside of these games. I have said many time that this isn't about money, it is about fun and that is what we had this year! There are many memories that I have made this year that will stick with me the rest of my life, and that my friends is a privilege not an honor. Thanks for listening! You hit the nail on the head my friend! If they start hearing that, it is over for the passing game! Ask anybody who ever played QB or WR! It throws everything off in the passing game.

As with last weeks game all they have to do is contain him...RC had a good passing game, and no is wasn't as good as Muleshoe's but teams have passed for over 300 yds and miltilple TD's against Kville and yet they are stil undefeated...As long as Kirbyville can make them one deminisonal they should be able to win the game...Muleshoe does have a 1000 yd back but they aren't balanced like Kirbyville is. That is one of the big keys to this game along with the game in the trenches...Kirbyville has dominated the line of scrimmage all yr on offense and defense and I don't see that changing much this week!

He is a freshman...not going to be blazing fast quite yet but the pedigree is there.

That is the thing about Kville...they have shown the capabilities of scoring quick or eating up the clock on long drives...I like to reference the CC playoff game...they gave CC a dose of their own meds when they showed how they can eat up the clock...This team is very capable of eating up 1/2 of a qtr in 1 drive...that being said, I like Kirbyville chances.

You are dang right Coop! I am ready to leave! Got back from Fredericksburg at 2am this morning and will be leaving for GP early tomorrow morning!

Yeah, it wouldn't be so bad if the dand wind wasn't blowing! I'm used to the SETexas wind....you know, if it blows hard there are usually enough trees to help keep it bearable...but out here there is nothing stopping the wind but all the dang deer in this region...I think that the Mulies got it pretty bad this morning! Maybe they won't thaw out until Kville heats them up from chasing our players! ;D

This has nothing to do with the game right now, but I am sitting here in Fredericksbug and there is about 3" of the white stuff on the ground! Not to mention that the wind is blowing like you wouldn't believe. I think it is around 29 degrees right now with about a 10 degree wind chill! I hope that it warms up a little by Sat. You can't stand outside for more that a couple of mins and still function!

Funny you say that about being a pushover...I was the QB for Kville in 98-99...Yeah, we kinda stunk it up in the day, but I'll never forget those days! Ya'll had a good QB that yr. D. White I believe? Thanks for the support! These boys have been battle tested like no other in the playoffs and I think that is something that is in their favor! Rooms booked? I am not even about to stay in DFW area for a night! I hate the place! Family lives in Carthage so I'll make the 3 hr trip back there after the game! It takes a little longer than 3 hours..LOL Made that trip not too long ago and it was like a 5 hour drive one way!!! But..I dont have family there so I would rather stay in a hotel and come home sunday!!! Too tired to drive. I made the drive last year to and from Bryan college station and that was a tough turn a round trip. Why do you hate DFW...I love Dallas!!! Were going up early saturday morning, shop in dallas, chill at the hotel..and get ready for game!!! I asked my sister because she went to a Rangers game this summer and it is about 4 miles from Gopher stadium. She said that it is 3 hrs. I hope she is right. I know it will take a little longer from Beaumont or if I am in Fredricksburg it will deff. be a long one. Ryker, that is the reason I hate it. Way too many people and hard to get around, but for the Cats I would drive to Alaska to the game...
