Now that Jasper beat BC 3-2, does that mean Jasper will move back into the top ten? Not that it really matters. Only the "poll" of the playoff games counts.

Good to see you at the game. I have been thinking about that. I don't know any baseball rules but obviously, BC HAD to come home with the ball because that was the only play that meant anything. And they did not do that and Jasper won the game. I guess a lot of game ending situations might not be totally fair stat wise. What if Bronson had hit what would normally have been a "triple" instead. Only one run, the winning run, would have counted right? The runner on second base would not have counted. So I think it is probably just as fair to give him a "hit" as to not give him the other RBI in the "triple" senario. But I am just guessing. Someone will probably be checking the rule book on the "hit". Anyway it was a great game to watch. The way Stringer was pitching I thought Jasper did not have much of a chance. But, credit the Jasper coach. He is probably more a "hitting" coach, but he proved he could go "small ball" when needed. Frankly, he did impress me with that move.

Maybe this is opening up a can of worms, but speaking of coaches, is Carmichael still at Jasper? The backfield will be "young", but should be more mature and junior dominated instead of sophs.

Jasper 1, BC 0. Last time I predicted that the Dogs won big! ;D I expect a tough game, and plan to be there. Is the game really, truly going to be in Jasper? I think the last game or two have had to be played elsewhere because of a wet Jasper field. Ya'll keep me posted.

The amazing thing is that Bailey is only a freshman! Looks like there may be some good prospects down the road for the Dogs. I hear he is not too shabby on the football field also.

It is a reversal for sure. Always in the past it was coaches leaving Jasper for bigger schools. To have a coach move from 5a down to 3a is simply mind blowing. For one thing, I think it is complimentary of the talent level in Jasper. I hope he finds great success in Jasper, and finishes out his career in Jasper. I think without a doubt he will bring new enthusiasm to Jasper. Maybe he will set up his "recruiting" desk out in the hall like he did at TJT and get some of those players back who might have played, but didn't. I just believe that Jasper still has better numbers than we have been seeing on the football field.
