  1. You can check this link for their sizes. But, of course, there will be a lot more deciding the game other than the weights listed on a program. [Hidden Content] I have seen Livingston, I have not seen Vidor. So I have no clue how the game will come out. I will only say that Livingston is a solid team, so expect a competitive game. Livingston beat C. E. King last week, who purportedly was the pick to win their district.
  2. Certainly one of the largest lines I have seen in several years.
  3. and ditto for your pardner in crime.
  4. Good luck Vidor. What you will be seeing is one of the taller, heavier, quicker OL and DL lines you may be seeing this year. One 6-6 guy, some around 6-4, and several around 6-2 or so. Absolutely not a fat one in the whole bunch. And they are not too slow either. Good luck again, they should be a good test for you.
  5. I think he played in four games last year, so has to sit out the first four weeks this year. There have only been 3 games/weeks played. But I could be wrong.
  6. No, I think Cleveland finally gets its act together! Lumerton will have its hands full.
  7. Yes, it was a pretty good broadcast, except for the obvious "homerism" on the part of the Newton broadcasters!  :!:
  8. Add Jasper to the list of under-rated teams. They have two losses against pretty tough 4a competition and now it seems everybody is writing them off for 3a.
  9. So Bark, it was you made them so tough! That 75 Jasper team with the Hadnots was maybe the most physical team by design that I have ever seen. BC folks should remember that team very well. BC was rated in the top ten when they came into Jasper. This is a Jasper version of the story. BC had a great linebacker who had great lateral movement. Running outside on him was out of the question. So Jasper sent Bull Hadnot up the middle with the ball each time, looking for the linebacker on the way. Instead of putting good hits on the RB's, the linebacker was taking the hits. By the fourth quarter, BC was worn down, and Jasper had a surprising 12-0 upset. Later that year, I saw Silsbee ambulances make three trips I think it was taking Silsbee players to the hospital. Those Hadnots and company could really hit. Bull played running back at McNeese, James went to Texas Tech as a TE, then beginning his junior year they moved him to RB and all he did was break Earl Campbell's rushing records, make all america, and was eventually drafted by Kansas City, playing 3 seasons at RB.
  10. Okay, how about this one? Newton wins because Jasper looking ahead to Kirbyville. The Dogs are still working to get their younger players into the game plan. By District, they should be READY!
  11. Congratulations to BH on a big defensive victory. BH definitely stopped Jasper from doing things offensively that 4a playoff Livingston was not able to stop last week. You made a believer out of me. Oh Jody, how was the weather in Colmesneil??
  12. Maybe so. But then Jasper gets a week off just to prepare to beat Kirbyville. One thing for sure, Jasper can only get better.
  13. Some folks think Jasper is a lot tougher than Kirbyville!
  14. Is this an omen of things to come tomorrow night?
  15. I think there should be PLENTY of seats for BH. Even WO-S didn't fill up their side in week zero last year. Neither did Jasper. Of course, the weather was blazing hot, and the humidity was through the roof. That might have had something to do with it. Jasper over the years added seats to accomodate fans from the Beaumont , Port Arthur, and Orange areas. I doubt that BH will bring more than those guys did for district games. But, I hope I am wrong. Bring 'em on. Jasper needs the money! Now you may want to bring a seat cushion. Jasper has some very good splinters! Judging from the weather today, maybe it will be nicer tomorrow night. But, yes, the parking is something else. After the small parking lot fills, you just have to get out into the residential areas and park on the street. As long as you don't block a drive-way, you should be okay.
  16. I suggest meeting by the flag pole. That way, there should be no doubt where to meet. The flag pole is on the west end of the stadium, opposite where you enter at the front.
  17. I plan to be there! Want to meet at half-time? As far as I know, nothing formal has been arranged, but I am sure we can arrange some "appropriate" treatment for you! Heck, I might even come sit on your side with you. No, wait, you never sit on our side.
