2.
I would go with Bo Robinson from La Vernia great coach and great motivator.
maybe that is who we need; he at least KNOWS where he wants to go: [Hidden Content] ''My goal is to, at some point in my life, be a head coach at Abilene High or Abilene Cooper or somewhere like that, and I just don't think its gonna happen at Bangs. So I've gotta move up.''
 3. After first place for Hudson, going to get crowded it seems!

What is his record at Anahuac?
Barbay is 33-21 at Anahuac.
just as important, what is the talent level at Anahuac?  that is like an avg of 61% winning ratio.  that might be excellent for the talent level??  or terrible??  will a 61% winning record will cut it at Jasper?  it has not in the past.  same question for McGallion and all other finalists about prior records and talent levels.  not saying these folks cannot succeed at Jasper; just saying they may have to step it up a notch over what they appear to have done in the past to survive there.
 5. Update on SHSU.  Sam has now won 12 games in a row; swept 3 conference opponents during that streak; and defeated No. 9 ranked Rice by 2-1 score earlier this week.  For the moment at least, they are on fire!
 6.
Heard Huntington won. Dont know score.
just when you think it is all clear, something like this happens!  :o Congratulations Huntington!  and thanks!  once again, a tie at the top with the possibly deciding district game Tuesday night Jasper at Hudson.

I really liked what he said in the article: "I am going to stick around for a long period of time if I get the job," Foreman said. "My priority is kids first, winning second." He clearly had the WO-S track kids respond to him in a very positive manner; as evidenced by three state track championships in a row.  That is hard to accomplish at any level.  He is from a winning program and knows how to win.  I agree that he would be an excellent choice for Jasper.
J_Dog , I may even let him have my "lucky" Jasper shirt if he gets it.......... ;D ;D ;D
u gotta be kidding!  ;D  if he thought you were pulling for him, he might withdraw his application.  :(

 12.
Coaching had nothing to do with Walk leaving.
true.  but the criticism was out there.  at least i heard it and i was not even living in Jasper by that time.  comments like "anyone can win with the talent at Jasper."  Time has proven that to not be true.  besides the point.  my point is that since Gene Walkoviak left, we have had a revolving door in Jasper Texas.  some flashes of greatness for one period of time.  then everything fell apart.  My point is that I understand that the admin and board can be under pressure, even with a great coach. But still, in the end, it is admin's job to do the hiring.  and their responsibility if they do not get it right.
 13.

There is always going to be disagreement with new coaches and a superintendent, but unless they are asking you to clean toliets you learn to work through them.  What is bad about this whole situation is that the coaches and their families have been put in jeopardy of having to move with a new hire.  Maybe before a HC ups and resigns he should think of the whole picture and what are some other ways to remedy it.  If it is just because of coaches teaching, grow-up.  Alot of 5A coaches teach, but again in some wealthy districts the OC and DC may not teach, but in these financial times one should think before put others jobs in jeopardy. Not employed in district, just like the sports.
THIS. Morgan is young and immature and left when times got hard.
ok, how about all the other coaches that left during the past decade plus?  didn't see any young ones in that bunch.  ultimately, admin is responsible.  if the admin hired an "immature" coach, that is still their responsibility and we deserve an explanation why they did that.  the buck stops with the administration.
 14.
Two representatives from the Football booster organization...can you say 10ft pole......
has this been done before?  we have had some strange hires over the past decade plus.  going to finally get it right? will booster members make any difference?  At first blush, it is easy to blame the admin & board for this debacle.  and i think they do owe some honest explanations instead of more obfuscation.  but how many fans have put pressure to get their kid more playing time, or a different position?  don't know, but over the years i have heard surprising complaints in the stands from fathers and standerbys.  Even Walkoviak came under intense criticism for not "winning the big one".  Well they got rid of him, and it was years before they got to play in another "big one".  maybe we should all share the blame.  but it is the job of admin and board to do the fixing.  hope they finally get it right this time.
 15. No question.  Shawn Mixon cares about his program.  I would expect that all the other coaches care about their programs also.  True Shawn might have more "stroke" since he is from Jasper.  But that should not matter.  Hire good coaches, admins and fans get out of the way and let them do their jobs.  If they fail, then fire them if necessary.  But please, do not try to micro manage them.  Same with teachers and any other district employees.
 16.
dont know if this counts but jasper had Malcom Bronson drafted in 11 round out of hs but chose to go to Mcneece instead, 2 yrs ago.
Yes, I heard Malcom was offered some fairly serious walking around pocket change to sign with Kansas City.  Hats off to him for having the vision to get an education.  I would count him!  ;D
 17.
Was this their 3rd game in 3 days?  Must be making up some games.  Tough on the pitchers.
Yes.  3 nights, 3 games. Thursday night was a make-up game from Tuesday.  Friday and Saturday games were already scheduled.  The district is out of action next week.  Jasper will play Rusk next Friday at Jasper in a non district game.  Then the next week the second round of district action starts.
