Jasper had best take EVERY district team seriously.  And I am sure they will.  This talk about KV being a lesser program is nonsense.  Thinking like that will get you beaten. But yes, Jasper's baseball tradition goes back a long way.  Much longer than any thirty years.  Jasper was playing baseball very well back in the fifties and sixties.  Check out the state tournament records if you doubt this.  But true, that does not win games THIS year.  The players they have this year are winning those games.

Every year it seems that Coach Mixon successfully brings someone in to pitch that had not been a pitcher.

Lorena won by something like 78 to 64 or so.  Don't remember the exact final score. Lorena led the entire game.  Opened up a big lead right at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.  Jasper narrowed the margin some at the end.  Tonight Lorena was clearly the dominant shooting team.  Jasper went through some long periods where their shots just would not fall.

Congratulations Dogs!  Bring on Lorena!

If the athletes on the basketball team are anything like on their football team ..............  ?? Does Gilbert play basketball?

Jasper is going to be tied for second no matter whether Center or Hudson wins.  It would seem to me that if Hudson wins, Jasper has the clear tie breaker in the better record in the games between the two teams.  If Center wins, it would be Hudson and Jasper tied with 3 losses each.  Jasper and Hudson split, each winning their home game.  So what would be their tie breaker?  Or will a playoff game be necessary for seeding?

[/quote] I think we have just seen typical Terry Young coaching.  His teams seem to get stronger as the season goes on.  Heck, who knows, they might even win a playoff game or two. For sure, I believe that Jasper will work hard to represent the district well.  Now Jasper has to wait to see whether they will get the second or third spot after the tie breakers are sorted out.  The possibility for a three way tie for first is gone, but a two way tie for second is assured for Jasper and the Center/Hudson loser if I am seeing things accurately.  Jasper has played all its district games and Center and Hudson play their last game against each other. It was a very competitive district.  With the right breaks any of the top six teams could have finished in the top three.  Incredible.
