[/quote] Don't worry everyone did the same thing the year Jasper won it all.  Abliene Wylie was just too good.  Jasper 10 run ruled them.  LE was the defending state champs with the whole team back.  Jasper nearly run ruled them too.  Jasper prefers the underdog role. [/quote] Yeah, Abliene Wylie had THREE strong pitchers.  Jasper had the worst record at state.  4th seed.  Didn't quite run rule them because Abliene Wylie scored in the bottom of the inning to prolong the game.  Final Jasper 11-3.  Ditto for LE.  Had a player drafted in Major League draft in fifth round the day that Jasper played them.  Pitcher had lost only one or two games.  Final Jasper 14-4.  25 runs in two days from a team that had "no chance".  And in theory at least against the best 3a teams in Texas. True, Jasper may fall flat on Wednesday night.  It has happened.  But it is way too soon to write off the 2010 Dogs!  :)

Simply amazing.  After being one of the home run team leaders all season, Jasper goes to state without a single playoff home run.  But the game is about winning, not about home runs.  Home runs are nice, but at the same time they empty the bases and take the base runner pressure off the pitcher and the defense.  I would take a dozen singles and speedy runners over a home run any day!  ;)

Congratulations to all the Jasper players and coaches, but especially to Parker Phillips who started at 3b as a freshman on the Jasper 2007 state championship team and now has an opportunity to compete on another Bulldog team for another state championship as a senior. Go Dogs!  Go Evadale!

I had to watch the game on the computer screen.  It was easy to see why OF fans were so high on their team.  Congratulations OF on having a great season.  How many players going D1?  Wow! Now go Dogs!  Win state again!  This team reminds me of the 07 Jasper team.  Maybe lightning can strike twice.  :)
