No question Gilmer is tough and deserves their number one ranking.  A team in Jasper's position has a choice when facing a team like Gilmer.  They can run scared, roll over and play dead.  Or, they can ignore the propaganda and play their game.  I think most folks in SE Texas know what the Dogs will do.  They will play their game.  Talk about smashmouth football, I suspect we will see some Saturday.  That is not a prediction that Jasper will win, but a prediction that the other team will know they have been in a FOOTBALL game. With a few breaks, Jasper very well may find a way to win this game.  Go Dogs.  We are behind you!!!!

winners say PLAY BALL!  stats are for losers.  how about that stat? i feel sure that jasper is not worried about stats.  stats never tackled anybody.  never scored a touchdown.

As far as Jasper is concerned, just line em up and play ball with whomever comes out of 17-3a.  Jasper owes them both!  ;)  They just owe Gilmer a little more.  ;D

It is kind of funny how these races play out.  CH had lost all three district game, now beat Bullard and only need to beat Gladewater by seven to advance to the playoffs as the third place team.  Even if they had not lost that game to Spring Hill by one, they still would have to beat Gladewater, but only by one point.

All good things come to an end, right? Hopefully, it won't get to 21. In the big picture, it won't make much difference because the big "G" probably looms again in a few weeks either way...but it would be nice to hang a loss on Carthage. Hey, I did not say that Jasper cannot win this game. Coach Hooks himself said these dogs can hit! It will be an interesting game to say the least.

All I know is: big and fast. and defending state champion. winner of 20 stratight games.

It is on the downlow, and probably is going to be on Smoaky.

jasper has no chance Jasper didnt have a chance again Kirbyville either they were down 22-7 and Kirbyville choked and lost 31-22. Never say Jasper doesent have a chance That is not right to say Kirbyville choked. Jasper just took it to them big time in the second half. If KV choked it was only because McGill's uniform got so dirty they could not tell he was not a wildcat.

This says it all. WOS has losses to Jasper and Silsbee. No way they let BC join that group. Not this year. Maybe next year.

On paper, and by all obvious logic, Carthage is the heavy favorite in this game. But this game will not be played on paper, it will be played in the Jasper Dawg House. Jasper wins, 24-21. After all, why not one more big upset for our little dogs!
