  1. hmm. I liked 6-0 Center better. Can we pretend? sure, go ahead. ;D
  2. They said that, but i think it actually is 14-0 Carthage.
  3. In this weather, it is going to be an ugly win for either team. Just get it over without anyone getting hurt.
  4. Light rain as game is about to start. The rain is forecast to diminish as the game progresses. Going to be a wet field regardless. Fortunately, I understand that the Jasper field drains fairly well.
  5. hold that comment. you may need it again sometime.
  6. All Im going to say is wo-s better win...Don't know if I can take Coop for another two weeks if we lose. ;D no problem. in his mind he never loses. ;D
  7. Do we have the "potential" to win a rematch? Yes. Do they have the "potential" to win again? Absolutely! It's a mute point anyway because IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN so why even bring something like that up? Your just bringing more crap down on yourself. We lost, let it go! God help us if we EVER have a losing season. well said. right on target. btw, right now, I am just hoping Jasper can get by Diboll tonight. Diboll did put a bigger whipping on Silsbee than Jasper did.
  8. like the changes they made after the near wreck against Kirbyville? ;D wos is not the only team making adjustments. every good team continually makes adjustments as the season advances. bet Silsbee has made some also. bet Jasper has also.
  9. On a dry field, I thought Silsbee had an advantage. On a wet field, I now pick WOS iwn. They will grind it out on the Tigers.
  10. Friday September 18, 2009 Jasper Bulldogs 23 W-O-S Mustangs 13 and the Mustangs are deserving of a top 10 ranking ??? Maybe, but if they are, Jasper should be at least #9. ;D But I don't really care about rankings. I care about those playoff victories. At least five or six of them.
  11. Holy .... ! Are you serious?? Hahaha the rebels will dominate in this game without a doubt ;D ... After last years game i saw between the mustangs and the rebels wow!! all I got to say is i hope the mustangs have improved tremendously.. I guess we will see friday night at the pasture in burkeville ;D different coach, and a new year. mistake to hang your hat on last year.
  12. It is really weird. All these years that Jasper hung its hat on the spread, they were not particularly successful with it. Now, with another primary offensive approach, Jasper seems to be having good success with the spread. Go figure. Clearly, it is giving other teams two totally different offenses to prepare for. From what I can see of Bickham, I would not be surprised if he pulls something else out of his hat somewhere down the road. LOL not particularly successful running the spread??? your kidding me right?? Jasper installed the spread in 01 and played 14 games in 4A football and on 02 played 14 games in 3A football then in 03 played 14 games and in 04 played 16 games. thats 58 games in 4 years i think that is pretty successful!! granted only played 11 games in 05 and just 10 in 06 which was the last year of the true spread. You are right. I meant in "recent" years.

  14. Burkeville took HI into OT. This is the week that they break through with a win. By seven.
  15. Now that I have seen both WOS and Silsbee play, I think everyone else will be playing for third. But in all fairness, I have not seen the other teams play. ???
  16. I don't think there was a "problem". Jasper had an advantage over WOS going in, and that was having two weeks to prepare. This time around, that advantage switched to Silsbee, and Silsbee almost pulled it off. Some folks made some crazy predictions, but I was not one of the crazies. The game ended just like a Jasper/Silsbee game should. In doubt to the very end. I am delighted that Silbee gave Jasper a good game. The Dogs perhaps needed a little wake-up call of their own that no one is going to just roll over and give them the game. Now on to district. Both teams will have their hands full. For sure Jasper does with the defending state champion in their district. Jasper will have to play just about perfect football just to make the playoffs out of 18-3a. As for the silver platter, when we get it, we keep it! ;D
  17. That surely would be in Jasper's favor with that grind it out offense.
  18. This was one of the most suspenseful games I have seen! Either team could score from anywhere.
  19. I have seen only two games this year. Jasper vs. WOS, and Jasper vs. Silsbee. If the WOS team I saw shows up, and the Silsbee team I saw last night shows up, I think Silsbee will take it by at least a TD. We hear a lot about "athletes", but for sure the Silsbee QB and their apparent main receiver fit that description. Time after time, Johnson would pull off a miracle throw on third and fourth downs while in the grasp. Jasper simply did not have an answer most of the time for their receiver who came down with seemingly everything thrown his way in spite of double coverage. Good luck to both teams!
