  1. I took the statement as a compliment to Jasper coaches and players. This is tough now for WOS fans, players and coaches, but it was exactly what both teams needed. A test; now they both have a report card of how they have done, and on what they must do to win in the very competitive playoffs. Both teams should go a long way this year.
  2. u mean for when they lost to Jasper? Jasper is going to be eligible for royalties on this! ;D
  3. Why sad? Jasper won. We're moving on to the next game. The coaches are paid to analyze the video. Besides you Kirbyville and Silsbee fans have done a pretty good job of challenging the WOS theories. ;D
  4. Calm down Bluetic. Plenty of people are giving Jasper credit. But by next year, anything short of a long, long run in the playoffs will be mostly forgotten. Even the fact that Jasper beat two "state ranked" teams is already moot because those teams are no longer "ranked" because they lost to the "lowly" Dogs. It is not fair, but that is how the pollsters look at it. Right now they are looking for "undefeated" records. They don't care diddly for strength of schedule. Rankings are nice, but they really don't amount to anything until you deliver on the field for the entire season. Do you remember the 87 season? Jasper was Campbell's preseason No. 1 and probably most people thought it was a cinch to win state. For sure Jasper had a great team. Jasper lost to WOS 0-3 in district, and then was promptly knocked out of the playoffs in the first round I believe it was by West Columbia. WOS went on to win their second state championship. For Jasper, it was basically just another missed opportunity to win state. Ditto for 2002 and several other years. Well anyway, what I would REALLY consider a successful season would be a state championship. Just making the playoffs is something the largest school in the district should almost consider a given. Again, Gas is right. It is not the smartest thing in the world to be giving opposing teams free bulleten board material. Unless of courese you are not from Jasper and just want to stir the pot. ;D
  5. Well said. but I have no idea where the rabid dogs are coming from. Perhaps Roganville? ;D
  6. Jasper will experiment with their offense if they get a reasonable lead. These games are for learning, and Jasper surely welcomes a chance to try out some different stuff. On paper, this appears to be Jasper's easiest opponent so far this year. No offense HF, but Jasper has just played three state ranked teams in a row. I do not see a huge score unless it becomes a scoring contest on both sides. And that is not Jasper's "business plan". D is their game, not offense. I say Jasper by 14.
  7. Gas is right. Jasper has had three good games, and was fortunate to win two of them, but we must not lose our minds, or our bearings. We need to let the team continue doing its talking on the field. If we get cocky, and I mean the fans, AND the team, we can fall in an instant. Stay humble guys. Rememer 2002. As good as this team is, I do not think it is yet at a level to compare to the 02 Jasper team that had its share of D1 athletes. We all remember what happened there. Some Dogs got overconfident (apparently) and would have had to buy a ticket to the state game if they wanted to see it.
  8. Gilmer 1st round would be no bueno...WO-S would match up with them way better than us. We will gladly defer to them the opportunity to represent SE Texas against the Buckeyes. Yeah, go Chapel Hill. ;D On the other hand, there will be monster teams in either bracket. I think Navasota was Div I last year? And others. There is seldom a cakewalk in either division. If we are not prepared to play any team in the state, we might as well quit right now. By the way, just going 2-1 for Jasper against three tough teams is NOT a successful year for Jasper. Has not been for a long long time.
  9. maybe so. i think jasper has played Gilmer closer than anyone else has. ??
  10. don't particularly relish the possibility of facing Gilmer in the first round. but i would bet that Gilmer is not relishing the possibility of facing Jasper in the first round either. the momentum often switches to the team that lost in the first game played in the year. it is tough to beat a team twice in the same year. We cannot control that anyway. Jasper must prepare for one game at a time, and get better each game. If they do that they should have a very successful season.
  11. WOS offense will get better. It was just hard last night to execute with a dog everywhere they looked.
  12. Thank you for the statement. Actually, Jasper is playing four teams that were ranked at the start of the season. Gilmer, Kirbyville, WOS, and Carthage. And the way Center is playing, I would not be surprised to see them crack the list also.
  13. I just read all the posts. What a game. Both teams came to play. I can see that Silsbee will be ready to give Jasper a game week after next.
  14. Congratulations Dogs on the win! And good game WOS. In the first half, except for the "big plays" it was tough for Jasper offense to get much going. Both teams will be better for the experience gained from this game.
  15. I am off to Jasper, so this is probably my last post before the game. Good luck to both teams. Hope for no injuries, and no turnovers, and no penalties for either team. Let the team play decide the game.
  16. Whatever.Still going to be a SLOBBERKNOCKER.Right j_dog. ;D Absolutely. Guaranteed. Down to the last second. ;D
  17. Hey, I know much less about this than you do. Yes, it will be very interesting to see how it works against a defensive oriented team like WOS. Friday will be my first time to see it. It did seem to be rather productive against Gilmer and Kirbyville. Then again, they may bring out some special offense just for WOS. ;D
  18. they don't call it the Triple I for nothing.
  19. Absoutely. Harper built up the program before, he will do it again.
  20. Cameron Stubberfield? I thought his name was Cameron Stubblefield. ??? Under any name, he is an outstanding athlete.
  21. please take your rooting somewhere else, u might jinx the dogs! ;D HAHAHAHA J_Dog I still have "The Shirt" if you want it for good luck....... ;D ;D ;D We need to catch a plaoff game when the time comes. Maybe we can pull Hup out fo the piny woods for a road trip. I would have guessed that you still have "The Shirt". Save it for the (possible) playoffs, just in case the Dogs make it that far.
  22. please take your rooting somewhere else, u might jinx the dogs! ;D J-dog, I tried every way possible to jinx the dogs when yall played us last year...just didn't work.... ;D sorry, you just do not have the jinx power of mr. 89. he almost single handedly carried jasper to the state finals in 04 by picking against the dogs. so i surely don't want him to change now.
  23. Did it ever occur to you that maybe the Bulldogs had something to do with your cats playing the worst game you have seen in a long time? Now thunder you should know by now that your opponet has nothing to do with the way your team plays. ;D LOL yea I guess you are right those 3 interceptions were actually thrown to the defensive man. yeah, he just got lucky to be in the right place three times, not to mention his fumble recovery. ;D
