  1. I suspect he is just strirring the pot.
  2. When you consider that Jasper graduated all its starting pitchers, and consider all the injuries to key players, and consider that the district includes two of the best teams in Texas supposedly, I think Jasper has done pretty well. It remains to be seen of course if they will advance very far in the playoffs, but they almost certainly have laid the foundation for even better years in the near future.
  3. You guys should play Bridge City... He said he wanted a warm up game. BC would be a war. ;D Thats the best kind of baseball! ;D I second that....It sure would be nice to see another one at Vincent Beck!!!!!!!!!! I am all for that, especially if it would be for the Region III championship! Jasper in one! ;D Why not best out of 2??????? ;D because Jasper is good at coin flips.

  6. I hope so. It could happen if some of Jasper's young guys really step it up. I hear they have been improving a lot in the past few games.
  7. Jasper beat Diboll 11-1 in five. Another great outing by Derek Sowell. Now, the Center game is strictly a warm-up game. Rest the starters, give the bench some playing time!
  8. This was my first Jasper baseball game to see this year. They looked pretty good as they clinched their third place playoff spot tonight. The rumor is that they will be playing Bullard, time and place to be decided.
  9. Final score was Jasper winning 5-3 KJAS: [Hidden Content]
  10. Keep it up Dogs! You are getting mighty close to clinching that playoff spot!
  11. Link to 18-3a District Track results: [Hidden Content] Girls, Team 1. Carthage 205; 2. Diboll 148; 3. Jasper, 85, 4. Hudson, 76; 5. Center, 52, Huntington, 37. Boys, Team 1. Center 155; 2. Diboll 133; 3. Carthage 89; 4. Rusk 76; 5. Jasper 67; 6. Hudson 61; 7. Huntington 25; 8. Central 10.
  12. True. Hudson and Carthage will probably also hang two losses on every other team also and Jasper already had a lead on everybody else. But I would still like to see them win out.
  13. That may be true and i guess you now him better than i do but its time for a new offense change starting with Coach Quick that's just my opinion and from what i've seen on the field. Maybe not a change with Coach Quick just let's get away from the sperad just a little bit and go back to more of a power game. Since Bickham was offensive coordinator at Tyler, I would guess he will be pulling the offensive strings regardless who may have the title. Maybe the biggest thing is just to get everybody on the same page. Sounds like this coach can do that. And I am not worried about what happened in Carthage. Bickham has demonstrated he can win. One bad stop along the way (if you could call it a bad stop) does not mean he does not deserve another shot at a head job. I will certainly give him the benefit of the doubt. In time, we will know which version we got. I bet he works hard to give us the better version. His career depends upon it. He has more to lose than Jasper does in giving him the opportunity.
  14. Make that four tough district losses, all to Hudson and Carthage. But if Jasper wins out against the rest of the district as they did in the first round, they will be in the playoffs for sure. Everyone else lost to those two teams as well in the first round.
  15. Jasper leading 2-1, Hudson batting. top of third, one out, one on.
  16. This is the kind of stuff I want to hear! At age 38, maybe he is ready to settle down.
  17. Now, let's play some hard-nosed football !!!!!! ;D
