I doubt if the district ends up changing that much. In SE Texas the UIL cannot add from the east or they would be in Louisiana. From the South they would be in the Gulf. Of course, Jasper is always on the bubble, never knowing for sure which way they will be thrown. Actually, it can be good to be in a very tough district. If you make the playoffs, you don't face the other good team until QF. Example, last year HJ and Silsbee in basketball, and Jasper and BC in baseball.

Easy to say with HJ's 2nd best player and best defender on the sideline for 3-5 more weeks with a broken jaw. : Was he one of the HJ players out when HJ and Jasper played in district? If so, it didn't help Jasper much. >

KV apparently has put something together. KV took Jasper to overtime I believe, and Jasper beat OF. Considering that, maybe this was not so surprising. KV could still pull an upset or two.

Those are my sentiments exactly. I don't know if I would call BC is a "bad" team, but they are definitely down the ladder in the win column. But still, a win is a win. It appears to me that just like it was in baseball last Spring, the third and fourth place teams, and maybe fifth place basketball teams from this district would do very well in most other districts.

Jasper won by a big margin, playing at Orange. I think the final score was something like 60 something to 30 something. Bailey had 37 points by himself.

Yes, the race for a playoff spot is far from over. I expect to see a big upset somewhere along the line. You know the amazing thing about Bailey is that he is just a sophmore. This is at least the second post I have seen from another school praising Bailey. I think someone from WOS echoed your comment about his being the best. WOS should think so, he scored 37 points on them. I have yet to see him play basketball, but I plan to before the season is out. His future appears to be without limit. He surely changes the equation on the football field.

Congrats WOS on a huge victory. The battle for third place in district may get tight now.

OF played tough as I knew they would. Too bad for OF that they had players out sick. Congrats to Jasper on getting a key win. It will only get tougher from here on out.

That probably means Dominique Bailey is hot tonight. He scored 37 against WOS, and someone from WOS posted that he only missed one or two shots. When he is hot .....

Lets' see. OF has a better record. OF playing at home. OF should rightly be a heavy favorite in this game. But go Dogs, anyway!

what is Lamar's problem with the slc?? I just don't understand. And if there is a problem with the slc, then all the other teams might have the same feeling. why would Lamar beat the other teams out for a "golden" spot somewhere else? Especially starting from ground zero.
