  1. BC can play for revenge if it wishes. Jasper will be playing to go to the state tournament.
  2. just wondering if the Hudson coach wishes he could take back his protest. ;D
  3. Impossibe to say until they get on the field. Obviously, judging from the recent record, BC has improved tremendously, but so has Jasper. That comes naturally from playing more games against tough opponents. I predict, ........ there will be a small war in SE Texas this week. ;D
  4. I agree. Jasper has not "easily" beaten anyone except Hudson in game two. And Jasper was on fire then because of the lousy third base call in game one. After that happened, I don't think I have ever seen Jasper so focused on winning.
  5. Judging from Hudson's playoff run, they must have had sky high batting averages also based on their run production. But they certainly did not pad their averages off Jasper pitching. Carthage also probably would have had more average batting averages if they had been in District 21-3a. ;D And we did get the re-match ! Good luck to both teams. May the team which executes best win.
  6. Jasper in district proved only one thing, the ball bounced right for them on two different nights. No way was it dominance. Now, last Friday, Jasper did dominate a team if you might call 18-1 domination. Lesson number one, don't "protest" any calls against the Dogs about touching third base. ;D Forget the records, just as Carthage should have. The records, and past history will not be playing this week. Two very good baseball teams will be playing and what happened in district is just history just as Carthage's undefeated season was and is history. The only thing that should matter to either team is advancing to the state tournament. Neither team should need any additional motivation.
  7. Make that at least 4 solid pitchers for Jasper.... Too bad we can pitch only one at a time.
  8. Yes, according to our conversation with the Hudson coaches, the game scores were 4-0 and 6-4. Obviously here they are talking about district records as the context above clearly shows.
  9. Absolutely! We could be co-state champions.
  10. No, Carthage played in District 20 I think it was; and at this point we have no good reason to think 21 is better than 20. I watched Hudson play last week, and they looked very strong to me. If, and only if, BC and Jasper both advance this week, then we can brag a bit about district 21. Then get ready for a little war. ;D
  11. just delay the start of the graduation as many minutes as necessary! ;D we must keep our priorities straight. ;D after all, delaying the start of graduation will be much easier to do than to reschedule graduation for next week! 8) remember priorities!
  12. perfect! ;D the jinx is in! now, will you come sit on the Hudson side for us please? ;D THAT would really finish them off! 8)
  13. Let it be .......... the last coach standing at the state tournament.
  14. Did you mean: www.lufkinyouthbaseball.com I could not find a map there. >
  15. Sure they do! Jasper has at least TWO chances. Slim and none. ;D Better yet, if the ball bounces right, they have a chance. But as I posted elsewhere, Jasper does have a mighty big hill to climb. But to say they have no chance, well I think that is what most folks said about Jasper's chances against BC and Silsbee as I remember.
  16. That record in district means zip. Jasper is going to have their hands full this week. Just hope we can get lucky. Actually, if you check the records, Hudson did not lose to Carthage by very much. The second game was only 4-6 and I hear that all 6 of the Carthage runs were un-earned. Anyone counting on a cake-walk for Jasper has been smoking rope. and a rotten rope at that. ;D
  17. Nuts! ;D Jasper never did beat Hebert. > Tied them once, but lost on first downs of all things. And those were the good old days when only one team made the playoffs. That year, Jasper lost no games, tied Hebert, and tied Huntsville who eventually won the state championship. And all Jasper got for a no loss season was district runer-up. I don't miss the good old days. ;D
  18. I think BC wins it in 3 games in a mild upset. BC can hang with them. Carthage is very good, but so is BC!
  19. I watched Hudson last night. If they are "down" I am glad I did not see them last year. They were flat hitting the cover off the ball. I guess you heard, they scored 29 runs last week in just six innings. Jasper is going to have their work cut out for them this time! Maybe Hudson started out the season slowly, but they are on FIRE now.
  20. Thank you! And the Dogs did it for you!
