I’m assuming Brook is over North Shore just because they have no losses this year but it’s still interesting people still ranked them ahead of North shore. I imagine that will change after this week.

There is a lot of things “ interesting” in those big school rankings. BH would have no chance beating Huntsville, Porter would smoke BH and PNG both. I think you have to consider who is doing the rankings. I know some put some thought into it, but I wonder about others.

In looking at BH they did lose to a good Magnolia team.  Then beat Montgomery , Kingwood Park, Dayton, Nederland and Baytown Lee.   Baytown Lee has some really good skill kids.  Maybe some of the best in the district.

From what I have been reading the BH defense seems to be getting better each week.  Maybe there is some validity to your reasoning.

    I guess we will see.

I’m not saying they aren’t the best in the district. Just wondering if anybody has considered their schedule so far. When Lee was undefeated to start the season, no one was picking them to win district.

So are you saying Crosby is more prepared because of strength of schedule

No sir.  I was just wondering why people are so high on them. I was only making the comparison to Crosby in regards to them having an advantage with their coaching staff. I didn’t even look into what Crosby’s opponents records were. I’m just saying the teams they have beat are not very good.  The only decent team they have played, they lost. Why does everyone think they are good ?  Hell, Dallas looked good until they played somebody decent. Now look at them.

  4. I see alot of you seem to be high on BH and I can understand that to some extent. They definitely have an advantage over Crosby because their coach has been there and established his program, compared to Crosby, who’s coach just started this summer. However, has anybody considered the teams they have played so far this year. They have only played two teams with a winning record, Magnolia and Lee, (both 4-2), and they lost to Magnolia. BH’s wins have come against teams with a combined record of 11-19.  All this makes me wonder if they are as good as some think.

    😂 what a dumb comment

It appears the comment was directed towards a post that said “PNG 42 Crosby 21”.

I guess he should have said “has not scored 35” instead of “cannot”.

It all will be decided Friday though.

Two weeks ago Crosby was the worst team ever.  New coach was being questioned on everything.  Now after beating one of the worst teams Dayton has ever put on the field they are primed to beat PNG .

You guys are crazy.  PNG by 21+

I think the only posts hoping for a Crosby win are the Vidor fans. Trust me, Crosby fans haven’t bought in to the junior high offensive scheme.

By the way, are we talking with or without iPads ?

All kidding aside, Crosby might take this one. Just depends on who’s penalties are the most costly, I’m sure the flags will be a flying.

When Crosby played Vidor, the refs seemed to throw a flag every play.  Against Dayton, that crew didn’t throw flags at all, even when it was abvious they should have.  The officiating nowadays is crazy.  I think the number of flags will all depend on what officials Arne at the game.  Some like to get more involved than others.

If you take away GP Dayton has scored 7 pts in the other 4 games. Those 7 came against Porter with no time left on the clock and it was totally irrelevant. Be honest with you I have no idea where you would even start to be just competitive. Can’t block can’t get of blocks tackling is below average and have no real offensive or defensive scheme and turn the ball over a lot. Punter is good so that’s a positive and he will get a ton of work this year.  I knew when Crosby went for 2 in the first quarter and it was only 13-0 they where basically using this as a scrimmage. I say this because their kicker was really good and nobody in their right mind goes for 2 with a ton of time left in the first quarter unless you have no kicker or just don’t respect your opponent. I really hope these kids get at least one district win and I always want to see our local kids do well. Oh well should feel like football weather Friday night and still think high school football is the biggest bang for your buck in our great state.

Not sure if I agree with you stating they went for two as if in a scrimmage.  I’m leaning towards the coach “not in his right mind”. We scored first against New Caney and the coach went for two then and didn’t convert. Who does that in the first quarter on the first score with a kicker as good as this kid is ?  SMH.

The offense need's improvement I agree. However we have a talent pool that exceeds 8th graders That is an insult to the kids. Be more specific on what is the problem.

Ok...the coaches run an 8th grade style offense. When the QB drops back to pass, we don’t always have to throw it 40-50 yards downfield. Apparently, the receivers have a low probability of catching that deep pass this year. The 2nd half, it looked like they worked on the short passes and that helped.  We can’t run the QB to death either.  That kid looked wore out in the 3rd quarter.  Hopefully, there will be a change at QB soon and Dunn can assume his RB role.  This will give the offense a whole new look.

Maybe Vidor took what the defense was giving them.  if PNG covers "remotely tight" then there are fewer men in the box and more running room.  Besides the first pass was about 20 to 25 in the air if i remember correctly.

It was 20-25 yards in the air....straight up. Most of them looked like punts that a safety could have defended had he been back there.  LOL

So which is it ? was that the kids fault or was it the coaches ?  You seem to have it figured out Forrest. You don't like people pointing fingers at coaches but don't have a problem making snide remarks about Crosby and Dayton teams . ----- ( you know' Team' includes players and coaches- right )

Everything is on the players' then why don't those kids coach themselfs  and save the school half a million a year on coaching staff wages.

An indiscipline poorly coached team will always commit more infractions that a good coached team and will lose more games.

Wrong again Gump  you win with a combination of the two - a talented team won't win that many games without the discipline and guidance from the coaching staff. Jerry Stewart coaching at Dayton had the same gene pool to pick from as the coaches before him and after him why did he win so much  while the other HCs didn't ? Because his teams bought into the winning culture respected and looked up to him just like Rio had with Crosby ... You are obviously clueless and have a problem with fans airing their concerns and frustration you must be one of those "coach can do no wrong and should always be respected and not held accountable conformers )  that thinks Johny can get ahead with a little sugar sprinkled in the right direction. And I say that with all due respect- Sir .
