1.
I was told by one of the Ozen defensive coaches that Deron will not do much against their defense because he can not handle press coverage and that's how they plan to contain all of our WR's. They said they learned a lot during 7 on 7. I'm ready to see this game. I believe it will be a tough game and would like to see some of our injured guys get well for the playoffs. If our lineman keep going down, we will not be in the playoffs long. This week the coaches had a good game plan by getting rid of the ball on quick short passes. The next 2 games will be against quick DB's who can turn those quick short passes into a pick-6. If we get a good lead, we need to start getting player's out of the game sooner. I want predict a score because this team keeps surprising me every week. Our defensive coaches are the real deal, they disguise coverage's very well and send heat from everywhere. The defense has improved the most since the first game. I like the Indian's to pull this one out to keep our neighbor's still in the playoff hunt.
Deron has handled the press coverage he has had very well. I even think he went up and grabbed a TD in the situation. If DeRon isn't open then Doty can pass to all of his other receivers. Alot of weapons to go to. Alot of great receivers on the field besides DeRon. Oh and I forgot, I think we might have a running back or 2 that at times can run the ball right down someones throat ! This game with Ozen and their speed will be a great contest and a great test for our Indians. As far as the O line goes, some of the injuries are apparently not as serious as they may appear. Also if need be they can make some changes with personnel to fill in the O line or move a few more of the big ol hogs up from the JV. I agree that if PNG goes up by more than 3 TD's in a game they should pull any player that is hurt or playing hurt and put someone else in. I know they even pulled Harmon in the 4th to stop him from getting any injuries. If they would have kept him in I think he would probably have gone over 200 yards rushing for the game.
 2. I'm glad for Central !!! they are doing a great job this season. PNG was picked towards the bottom of the district as well. I really like the fact that our district will be sending some great teams into the playoffs !!! This speaks well of our district and area.
 3. Its not a scared factor its a curiosity factor. I know my interest in this is that I heard they had a kid who committed to UT. Anyone who is recruited by UT or a D1 school is someone to take an interest in. If PNG plays Angleton, I know our D would contain their O. I'm sure if they look ahead that alot of their fan base would be looking at PNG and asking alot of questions as well. PNG team is not looking at Angleton, their focused on Ozen. The fan base is who, such as myself, looking further ahead in the playoffs at who the possible competition could be. I know we need to focus on Ozen, but the playoff picture is becoming more clear. So to say "why is ever(y)one so SCARED of Angleton ?" is not the real subject. Its a curiousity question. We focus on our area more, atleast I do, so when you do get closer to the playoffs you want to see who is out there. I see alot of teams undefeated as of now, so I personnally don't look just at Angleton, I am also looking at Lake Travis. I like to investigate other schools as well.

I know if you play in the D2 bracket there is one more game to be played than if you were in the D1 bracket. I just don't know were that extra game falls in the bracket.
With the 4 team playoff format, why would D2 play one more game than D1? If you have 2 teams in D1 and 2 in D2 how is there a difference in games played? Curious?
Back when only 3 teams from each district make the playoffs, there was a shorter road to State for the D1 representative vs. the D2.  1 team used to make D1 from each district and 2 teams made D2 from each district.  D1 had less teams with less games.  D2 had more teams with more games.
Maybe thats what he was talking about.
 5. No I was curious, the guy sitting next to me last night was saying something about it.

Important district since there is a strong chance that both teams out of this district will represent region III. It looks like in the last week that the Lamarque vs Friendswood game will settle 4Th place. If La Marque and Friendswood both win this week, then in week 10 they play each other. Right now Lamarque is one game behind Friendswood, but a La Marque win would create a two way tie and La Marque would go into the playoffs and Friendswood would stay home. That would put BOTH Dawson and Angleton in Division I (GREAT NEWS FOR DAYTON AND PN-G!). Looking at the schedules, it looks like this district is beating up on each other. Angleton is undefeated, but all the other teams have lost to various opponents. With two games left, there looks to be a lot of scenarios left...
Who do think has the upper hand with La Marque and Friendswood ?
I would give the upper hand to Friendswood right now.  ;) Purple you are right too many scenarios left to talk about and you are right about beating up on each other. This district is tough and you can't take anyone for granted. Manvel/Friendswood game went 4OT's last night; great game, luckily Friendswood came out on top. You also have to look at Sante Fe, started 6-0 and lost their last 2 and end the season with Dawson and Angleton; they may not even make the playoffs. La Marque needs to worry about Manvel this Friday.  Texas City has Dawson so who the heck knows. UGH my head hurts thinking about this district. ???
LOL !!! sounds like our District alot of the times.
 7. Lumberton did a good job on D in the first half with containing Harmon, but the passing game and all the Raiders turnovers killed em. I felt Harmon would get the best of Lumbertons D in the second half. Lumberton has a good team, I just don't know why they haven't been able to put it all together this year. I know that Defending PNG's offense is not an easy task for a Defensive coordinator. Lots of great players to prep for. Our D is very dominating, the secondary took a while to heat up but they got it contained for the most part.
 8. INDIANS WIN !!! but, Ozen has improved alot over the last several weeks. Looks like Central pulled away in the second half from Ozen.  Will be a good game.

 11. Is Angleton that good of a team ? I heard they have a hoss running back. I don't know anything really about Angleton except they are undefeated and ranked fairly high in all polls. I think if Dayton can get back to firing on all cylinders they could take Brehnam.
 12.
There are some statewide shows you can listen to via the net. Not the same flavor but second is not always the best.
Yea I know I can listen on the net AT HOME ! but would be nice to have some local chat on the radio for the drives home. Who knows maybe in the near future. What was the cause to stop the smack attack ? To get it back do you need alot of sponsors and a OK from the powers that B ?
 13. PNG already beat Livingston in the Monsoon !!!
 14. Last night at the PNG-Lumberton game, BH had 3 scouting coaches there. I spoke with one of them and he said that PNG is not the team they played at the beginning of the year. PNG has made such big strides and is a very well balanced team. Thats all he said to me last night
 15.
Just posted this on my toupsgraphics.com website.... Nederland and Ozen look to be in the drivers seat for 4th place. Ozen has LC-M in the last game. If Ozen wins that game that forces Nederland to win out (not likely). If Ozen and Nederland tie at 3 and 4 (that's what Toups Graphics predicts) then Ozen gets 4th place due to the head to head overtime victory at Bulldog Stadium. If... Ozen goes to the playoffs.... Bidistrict will be... Crosby vs Vidor, Central vs Goose Creek Memorial, Dayton vs Ozen and PN-G vs Barbers Hill. If Nederland makes it, division I and II are changed in 20-4A... Bidistrict would be.... Crosby vs Nederland, Central vs Goose Creek Memorial, Dayton vs Vidor, and PN-G vs Barbers Hill.
Ok never mind my post. You posted before I did. After Bi-District how does the playoff bracket go from there ? just curious.
 16. I think PNG and Central are both in. Vidor should also be in mathematically as well. The 4 Th spot is open, I think that Ozen has the tie breaker over Nederland. I don't know who plays who. Nederland plays Vidor and I believe Lumberton. They would have to win one and Ozen lose both remaining for Nederland to get in. PNG will more than likely will have BH in Bi-District, Vidor would get Crosby and Central would play GCM. The 4Th spot would have to play Dayton. The way the UIL has the playoffs working, the D2 schools play one extra game. I'm not certain how that works and who they play regardless of who wins of losses. District 24-4A would be the other District that our teams would face after Bi-District. That includes Angleton. That District is still not certain on seeds yet I believe. I could be wrong.
 17.
Geeeeeez, all you guys want to talk about is 3A and Silsbee. This is too boring, bring back the smack attack show back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YEA the smack attack on the radio would be great to have back !!! or atleast some sort of local sports talk program !!! When your at a out of town game and you want to hear other scores you can't !!! If there were probs with callers then use the delay to cut em off !!! I loved the smack attack show !!!! Were here in the football capital of TEXAS and no Friday night call in show !!!
 18. If GCM is in the playoffs as a D1 second seed, you will have Vidor. Thats a very good offensive team. Better strap on an extra chin strap !!! They are very physical and fast.
 19.
I am ready for this regular season to be over, for sure.  With as many as 11 starters out to injury and the turnover problems we have had this year, we're gonna have to step up this playoff season big time.May sound crazy, but I am glad we will likely play PNG.  I think we match up best with them.  Running teams are giving us a fit this year.
PNG runs the ball more than they throw !!! Harmon already has over 1200 yards rushing !!!
 20. One of the great things regarding PNG'S D is that adjustments are made immediately instead of at half time. I think our D will adjust to Lumberton after the first series. After that they should contain the Lumberton O pretty well. Either way this is gonna be one heck of a game !!!
 21. I believe a win tonight by the INDIANS and we are in the playoffs. District 19-4A is still a wash as of right now. I think Crosby is the only team that has been guaranteed a playoff spot so far. Dayton will be in, but the last 2 slots are still open apparently. Hard to say who we would play, but I don't see us playing Dayton if they go as the #1 seed in D2.
 22. As far as playoff teams and their size goes, PNG would go into the playoffs as a D2 small school. central and Vidor have a larger enrollment than PNG. As of right now in 20-4A your looking at PNG D2, Central and Vidor D1, the 4th spot is still not decided. PNG would have to win 1 more game to go in as #1 seed small school for the playoffs.
 23. This game will be a great test for our (PNG) D and our secondary !
 24.
The Freshman game was scheduled to be played at Lumberton and the JV was scheduled to be played at the Rez.    Now they are both be played at the home with Freshman starting at 5:00 and JV at 6:30 or when the Freshman games ends.
Thank you !  my son is on the freshmen team so I knew the Freshmen game was suppose to be in Lumberton.
 25.
Their backs are up against the wall and they're at home, PNG is coming off probably their best game of the season and Central is the talk on the horizon. Also, Lumberton from what I remember throws the ball more than the Indians last couple opponents which adds a wrinkle that they haven't seen much of this season. I'm hoping PNG has a great start and jumps on the Raiders early to squash any momentum they'll have but it wouldn't suprise me at all for this game to be closer than many experts are predicting.
You can guarantee that the PNG D will be ready for Lumberton !!! We do have some great men in the secondary !!! This will be a good game. Can't wait !!! How do you Lumberton fans think the field will be tomorrow night ? Does it drain well ? Just curious. We all know what happened a few weeks ago with the rain and how the fields were.
