  1. Hart from Jasper... He did throw one ball out of the ballpark and into the stands during the state tournament last year. You usually pay for those sort of big errors during big games, but it didn't slow Jasper down... Jasper probably has the 2 best outfielders in the area. Bronson may even be a better fielder than Hart? I'd give Hart the overall edge due to hitting...
  2. Thanks MIF04.... Could someone check on wg88pitcher? He is just trying to get us stirred-up right? He couldn't be serious? ....Not sure what to say here? Let's see WB take care of Ozen and then let them step-up to Jasper, BC, and some of the others in the regular season.... In regards to one of wg88's other entries related to if a 3A school was to play WB, the 3A school would need to pitch their ace, etc. Of course, Jasper or BC would pitch their ace if at all possible. Just like Jasper or Bridge City would pitch their ace when playing each other. And WB better play their starters. I guess if they didn't play their starters, they'd at least have an excuse for the loss.... No all-star team needed to beat WB...
  3. All great teams mentioned by DaBears... We will never know, but the question of which 3A team is best has been fun. Jasper's championship team could have competed with anyone, any year. Not to belittle Jasper, and forgive me for putting it this way, but Jasper did seem to be "a team of destiny" this year, beginning with the at home Silsbee game this year. Alot of things fell into place. .... Would have liked to have seen Jasper's ace (Travis Reagan) get to throw in the state tourny. He just played SS due to an injury.... Congrats to Jasper and looking forward to Bridge City vs. Jasper next year! Yes, I do believe a new rivalry has begun between these two powerhouses.
  4. Best 3A team ever? Not sure? Can say....they totally dominated state like no other team in the tournament. Key word = team. They had no weaknesses, none. A shaky defense? Come on. Jasper's pitching seemed alot better than average. Seems Bridge City had difficulties scoring runs on them....After Jasper had blown-out the team from Texarkana in the championship game they made 4-5 errors. Other than the errors in the championship game, they had very few errors throughout the playoffs. Maybe an error here and there..... Homer Bailey does not equal a team.
  5. OK Orangeboy, Jasper will repeat. As state champions that is! Lots and lots of offense and very solid pitching. By the way, the show Jasper put on here in Round Rock was the most impressive of any team in the tournament by far. Not sure anyone here from any class could have beaten them.
