4.
Coach, I think you are on the right track but I think 28k is going to have be a complete bowl on the south endzone.  I think there is a little bit of a space issue with the new athletic complex but it is doable.  The extension's on both sides toward the Montagne is also a must.  If there is not room for an upper deck on the east side, you could go further up with the existing deck with some poeple ramps for higher entry to the stadium, and you might can do the same on the east side.  I would say if LU football really takes off, there will be some creative architectural design and engineering to expand the stadium to a capacity that gets close to 40K.
I like what TX State did adding the covering behind the press box with the higher entrances to the stadium. It would add a great look to the outside of the stadium, and add some extra seats. All that matters right now is that Lamar wins right away.
 5.
Berkman has been injured the past couple seasons, Im sure he would much appreciate being traded to one of these AL East teams that are in contention. Berkman could play DH some days, and some days he could play in the field to give guys days off. The Yanks or Socks would love to trade for Berkman in a Hearbeat. David Ortiz will not be on the Red Sox roster at the end of the season if he continues to hit like he has this season.
The last few weeks he has been getting it going. If he keeps it up, he will. I'd love to see Buck come to Houston, but Boston isn't getting rid of him. He's been their best starter all year, and the most consistent. If they trade him, I'm sure it will be for more than an aging first basemen who is having trouble staying healthy.
 6.

Berkman can't start for the Yankees and maybe not the Red Sox neither would be willing to make a trade for him.
You may want to rethink that comment.  The Yankees DH is Nick Johnson who has been a disappointment.  The Red Sox DH is David Ortiz and he's been terrible.  Berkman could easily DH in both lineups, and with his defensive skills, he'd probably play the field some and give the 1st basemen days off.  The problem with the Red Sox has been their lineup hasnt produced to the level of the past and Ortiz isnt the same and no more Bay.  The Yankees lineup is really good but they are always willing to take on salary and the Red Sox could actually use Berkman if Berkman can return to form from his surgery.
Tex is a gold glove first baseman who will play 150+ games every year. Berkman wouldn't want to DH, he's still too young and has years in his legs. Wherever he goes, he'll be a position player.
 7. Redsox have Youk at first base, and the only place you could POSSIBLY move him is third. If Youk moves to 3rd, Ortiz and Lowell will platoon at first base. I don't see Berkman going there, even with how much I'd love him to come to Houston.   Berkman wouldn't even start for the Yankees.
 8.
Here's how it's going to look from the top: [img][Hidden Content]] Here's my version of the stadium expanded to 28K: [img][Hidden Content]]
That's what I was thinking. I don't see this going to two decks because of the proximity to the road. And they're not going to double deck the opposing teams side, unless Lamar moves that side to their home side.
 9.
Turf is a 3 month process. To be ready be mid-September, they'd have to start no later than mid-June. And that's with PERFECT weather. They need to get going within the next couple of weeks.
Just curious where did you get the "3 month process" to lay turf?
It's all I've ever heard. Makes sense.. Takes at least a couple of weeks to take up all the old sod and get the dirt leveled out. Then you start the long piping and draining process which is another couple weeks to a month. All of this is depending on weather. All that is at least a 1 1/2 half month process, then you can start laying the turf. That's a couple of weeks, then you can paint and everything. About 2 weeks there. So with perfect weather, that's still a 2 month process. So maybe not quite 3 if the weather is good.
 10.
I would imagine that will be one of the last things, they will do. It's kinda like building a new house, one of the last things to go down is the carpeting or flooring. I'm guessing July or August.
Turf is a 3 month process. 11.
There is only 8 guys on the field for the blue team. I hope you don't use that style. And why not add suites to the left and right of the suites in the imagine. More suites, more money....
Because they're probably making sure they're going to sale consistently first. $25,000 is a lot of money and they know that.
 12. Would like to give the lessons in Lumberton if possible.
 13. As a pretty frequent poster to this website, I often see people wondering about lessons. I know this is website is a great way to reach out to the community.. So I am using it to say that I am giving pitching lessons all through out the summer. For those of you that don't know, my name is Tyler Wilson. I was a 4 year letter winner at Lumberton High and I am a current pitcher for Lon Morris Junior College, which competes in one of the most competitive Junior College conferences in the Nation, Region 14. I love working with kids and helping in the process of developing ball players, and I believe that through baseball you can turn ball players into quality young men. I'm doing it to spread the simple info and drills about pitching that can go a long way. I'm not taking anything away from any other pitching instructor on this website, all of them are great and would be great options to learn from. But I know I too can help a pitcher, young and older, make the necessary strides to have a successful career on the mound. References available upon request. For more info, you can send me a PM or reach me via call/text, 550-2226. Thanks in advance.

I live in Houston now and never get a chance of going back that way. I would love to see how it is looking. I love the webcam but it does not show the stadium, just the fieldhouse.
This segment has some of the stadium at the end.... [Hidden Content]
Looks good! Bleachers sure are white.

 17.
They painted all of the bleachers.
I was hoping so, I had heard they pressure washed and pressure washing isn't a permanent way of fixing things. So, they aren't touching the press box from what I've heard?
 18. I'm excited to finally get to go see if once I get home from school. One thing that I've been saying for a long time is that they should just get metal bleachers and put those in front of the Montagne, and get them as high as they can be so that the people in the suites can still easily see every part of the field. I know bleachers seats don't sound great, but UT has a set under their big screen that I think holds 2,000 people, and it doesn't look bad at all. And that's a perfect idea of what Lamar could do. And since there is the hill, the could just bulldoze it all the way back to the Montagne, it would be fairly easy and it would open up more room for seating. I still say that the Montagne has to have a facelift or at least a pressure washing on the side facing the field. I have a hard time believing that they can put a second deck on top of the side of the stadium with the press box cause of how close it is to the high way. But, I don't see why they couldn't do what TX State has done and put an upper deck on the other side that could hold anywhere from 5-10 K. But yes, this stadium should basically be new. Did they just pressure wash the bleachers or paint them as well?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when transferring from a D2 - D1 you have to sit out a year?
No.  Only when a player transfers from a D1A(FBS) to another FBS do they have to sit out a year.
He told me he has to sit out a year, so I'm going with that lol

Good ole Roc told BT to fire him if he wanted him out and Tubbs was not willing to do so.
Either way, you've pulled two stadiums that're better than Lamar's.. You pull the team that probably competes for the National Championship every year, and you pulled the stadium that a team was lucky enough to be allowed to play in only because the school doesn't have enough money to build a decent one theirselves.
 21.
They are not right at ground level, They are on the concourse level at Montagne I believe.
Kinda wonder how good looking these things will be. They have 4 months or so to get them up and completely finished. Any word on when the turf will be put down? It's usually a 3 month process to complete, I believe. Good thing the turf company and the construction company are completely different employees, so it won't slow down the athletic complex one bit. Does anyone have any updated pictures of the outside of the stadium?
