1. Signing Beckett to a 4 year extension. They now have Beckett, Lester, and Lackey locked up through 2014. Next is Clay after this year. [Hidden Content]
 2. Goin' for the underdog.. Lets go BUTLER
 3. 7 straight by Butler. Then 2 for Duke. Duke up 28-27.

 5.
Wow, now what?
We get all our money together (I'm good for at least $2.73) and offer him a life time supply of hamburgers at the Nederland concession stand, and get him on the 16-18 yr old team and take them all the way to the World Series. Sounds like a good idea to me.
 6. First career AB hits a 420 HR to right field off of Carloz Zambrano.. Then sprinted around the bases. Everyone needs to pay attention to the Braves, this guy could be the next Pujols.
 7. Great game. Nelson Cruz is solid

Either that or they don't care. Let's face it, other than the enginerring and nursing programs this isn't a great educational school. Basically anyone will be accepted. Either they make the place hard to get into and turn it into a fine academic university, or they turn the focus to sports and leave the education as is. Baseball program is very close. With the facility upgrades, they can pull a lot of great recruits. If they'll ever add a visitor locker room, they'll pull great teams. Football is back, they'll be playing big name schools in a few years getting their name out there. Basketball, who knows. Soccer is here, softball is coming. Lamar is very close, but the important people are taking no initiative to put Lamar's name out there and enhance the school in any single way.
From a lot of your previous posts, I get the impression that Lamar wanted you to come to school there, but you were too good to settle for Lamar.  Why is it that now you are so willing to offer your expert opinion on everything that Lamar does? Could you just go on about your business and let the Lamar Officials run the program at Lamar?
No, that's not it at all. It's my hometown school and I want it to be great. I don't want it to be an average university.. And if I was a person in power I wouldn't settle for that. At least admit the fact that everything I pointed out was true.. Because it is. I just wish they would be pushing every program to the public and getting people excited about every sport, not just football. When you take notice of one sport, you'll follow another.. And another. But at your wish I'll try and stay off this thread. Sorry for you thinking that I'm conceited or anything like that, because if you knew me.. You'd know I'm very different from that.

 13.
Brock Lavergne and Justin Hallmark from EC. both very good player.  should play on the next level for sure. even if it is at a JC
Going JC is better than D2 or D3
 14. Navarro swept us today.. Didn't look too impressive we made quite a few errors. How's Kendall's arm Eagle? I haven't spoken to him in a few weeks.
 15. I think people have to realize UT wasn't as bad as everyone thought, 3/4 of their losses came to teams in the Elite 8 in K State and Baylor
 16.

I said the southland is a two bid noW that means each and every yr southland should get two teams to regionals bec th conf is respectful conf in the nation nowwww, lumberton hs, hold the record for most hrs in a yr and career and have the rEcord for best era in a yr, played at Galveston jc named top 100 best players In stateof Texas for area code games going into my sr yr, went to Texas a&m corpus Christi, last 2 yrs. Been around the game all of my life and and my cousin pitches for the Boston red sox, I know the game of baseball very well, I'm speaking my opinion on Lamar baseball and I feel that lamar needs to bring back some life to this program and swagger, gilligAn time has gone, he was a heck of a coach but your time comes, and there is nothing wrong with that it's just life, I know life isn't fair but you just got to deal with, people in this world these days need to be more realistic but they aren't, I'm just being real.
There's your answers everyone! He's a snot nose Lumberton kid who's stuck up on himself, that feels he must name-drop to feel he's important, and apparently MAD at Gilligan because he was not good enough to play for Lamar.
And doesn't mind basking in Clay's glory, either!
You guys don't realize if it wasn't for injuries he would've beat Clay to the pros, and there would be two pro ball players in the same family. Everyone knows I'm from Lumberton, and you can call me a snotty nosed kid all you want but I'm going to defend him because I actually know him unlike ya'll. He DOESN'T hate Lamar or Coach G, or he wouldn't be wasting his time on this board. He can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he pitched against Lamar SEVERAL times and won.. So you can't say he wasn't good enough to play there. He had Big 12 offers too.. Too far from home. So quit saying he hates Gilligan and wasn't good enough to play for Lamar. I don't see how you guys don't realize all he's saying is if Lamar plays a stronger preseason schedule it will make THEM look better and make THEM more prepared for conference. He's not saying they suck or he hates them.. Get off it.
 17. Rice is 1 game out of 23 to this point, so that is irrelevant. The offense really picked it up tonight, hopefully then can repeat and the pitching staff will hold strong.
 18. Hit the nail on the head man, LU's pitching staff has to improve.
 19. Any updates?
 20. LU has to find a way to squeeze out a run here in the top of the 9th. You can't blow a 4 run lead against this solid of a team
 21. LU's bullpen has imploded. So far TX State has put up a 5 spot. 8-7 Cats
 22. Sure wish this scholarship was for present college athletes. Definitely worth applying for though folks.
 23. Just a reminder for everyone to keep checking their teams for injuries, transactions, etc...
