Kirbyville's Ford contemplating A&M, Lamar offers
AJ25 replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Why is anyone debating this? It's his decision, we can't gage on what Ford is doing or waiting on. Best of luck to Ford. -
I'm with Stringer, they're off to a slow start. They have one of the best staffs in the nation though, so I think they'll pull it out.

Do you know what SOS means? Go look at Sam houston SOS 83, TEXAS ST SOS 102, Se LA SOS 79, UTA SOS 82, UTSA SOS 87, from last yr and compared it to LAMAR'S which was 202 lol Lamar schedule isn't even close to there schedule's so you can't compared them, the reason you are tired of the negative attitude towards lamar is because its the truth and it hurts.
The bottom line is that everything you post comes back your bitterness against Gilligan. I don't know why you feel that way (you couldn't possibility be that upset about the schedule) and I don't care. I await your next tirade.
You have to be realistic, and you also have to realize that he wants to see Lamar succeed just like everyone else. But, the only way we'll get a big is if we win the Southland, and I honestly couldn't tell you the last time that happened. I'm not saying it was 30 years ago, I just honestly don't know when it was. But back to the schedule, it's not exciting fans going and seeing Lamar punish bad teams. And if you think that's a lie, look at the differences in crowds between games against Rice, U of H, and then North Dakota St. If you're not at the game 2 hours before it starts then you're sitting on the end of the bleachers down the third base line. Like I've said before, they have to start going places and getting victories if they want to bring teams in. SELA just swept Mississippi State, Sam started off the season with a 3 game set at No. 9 TCU (And they are very far from Ft. Worth) I understand that Gilligan doesn't want to travel because he thinks they should come here.. But no team will come here and play Lamar when they could have just as competitive teams come to THEM. Saves them a 3+ hour road trip to play the same quality of teams. They have to start going places and playing. And not the typical Rice and U of H every year. We're better than U of H now, they'll keep coming here. Have to play a Big 12 team or two, or at least a Sun belt team.
He quit traveling to places that refuse to give us return games in Beaumont. Traveling to Austin or Baton Rogue doesn't put anybody in seats at Vincent Beck unless they give Lamar a return game--I'd take two-for-ones if they'd do it. If they're too good to come to Beaumont why go there?
Not many Big 12 teams will come to a Southland school.. It's not a talent issue because I promise Southland has just as good of athletes in some cases as the Big 12 schools. It's just they're too proud to travel to a Southland school I'm sure. Look at Sam's schedule, they go to Big 12 teams without them coming to their place. UTA draws them because they've gone to their place and earned respect. Tx State draws big teams at their stadium because of their location. So when you're out of the way, we're not going to draw these teams without going there and beating them first. -
Very good win. Does E have the ball first game tomorrow?

Surely not to straight away dead center.. That's a bombbb.

First 10 to 12 members get a spot. Who's interested? -
They probably aren't trying to draw any attention to the Montagne. If the scoreboard is over there, more people will be inclined to look at the ugly Montagne Center. I'm guessing the concrete walk ways circling the playing field will be for the player to walk down and then run out?

UPDATED Last year "Presto" won the SETXsports fantasy baseball league. The members included Presto, PhatMack19, speedkills, Webbmen, BigMackAg, Chickenhawks, Gabe, Mine is Longoria, Rykerx144, and myself AJ25. Out of these members, who is interested in returning for the 2011 season? I can renew last year's league and accept new managers if managers choose not to return.

Tell you what, he's going to be hating the Coaching staff come this summer. New diet, hard hard work out plan, etc.. It'll all pay off though. These are the kinds of guys that get drafted, because they have so much more muscle in that fat. No offense to him of course, but if he works hard enough, he'll be a big contributor.
Agreed, it all depends on his work ethic though. Congrats to Anthony though, he is going to be a long way from home.
As another athlete away from home, if you're away.. You're away. Doesn't really matter how far you are until it's time to go home.. Then that's the difference maker. lol -

Couldn't find anything about him, but he's a big guy. Needs to lose about 40 lbs though.. but I'll trust Coach if he said he has good feet. -
Haha even though he did some good things for MC. Hopefully I'll get to spend a good amount of time out there again this summer when I don't have games.
Had Clay and Allen Harrington together on a World Series team in Weimar one year. Both got lit up, baseball is a game of overcoming failure. Hey look forward to the summer, we have a spot for you.
i think I'm too old for the league now, 19 already. But Mack and I had talked about me possibly helping him coach a little bit if his other assistant doesn't come back. We'll see what comes of it.. I'd love to do anything I could out there, it's a great time.
That's what I meant, coaching or making the lineup out, not much coaching just let em play.
Definitely looking forward to it.
