1.
lumberton has threee pithcers. 1. erickson 2. beard 3. castolenia(lefty) t-town moved to kelly
There isn't a team in the area that has only three pitchers.
2. It'll look great if they can add small upper decks like what Tx State has.
3. Old. Old. Old. Maybe him never touching the outfield will help, but I see nothing more than 20 HR's out of him next year.
4. He really could be a difference maker. I think it will take one more year for Drayton to realize that he has to spend money on pitching to compete. We have the offensive fire power finally.
5. Hopefully they start making some strides so this thing can be completely ready to go by the summer for summer workouts!
6. Better than those Cowboys across the border.  ;) lol But in all honesty, a completely refaced stadium, nice pressbox, brand new turf, brand new big athletic complex facing the stadium, big video board, and maybe even a facelift the Montagne? They should have no problem keeping some players at home. Even more importantly, they should have no problem drawing fans. But, like I've said before.. Fans have to realize that losses will occur, and they have to stick that out and continue to show as the team grows. Here's an idea of what our's should look like. From the drawings and what we've heard, should be identical to McNeese's.. Minus the amazing pressbox. [Hidden Content]
7. is this going in place of the old building behind the home side bleachers? There is a roofed cage area behind the bleachers, but it isn't totally inclosed.
8. A chairback seat for one person most likely takes up 2 regular bleacher seating spots, or just shy of that. Therefore, expanding the chairback seat section will reduce the capacity of the stadium.
9. Astros signed Brett Myers today. Should help the rotation a good amount, and bring lots of postseason experience to the table.
10. One thing that stands out in the video.. Announcer says "We salute the Cardinals from Lamar.. From Beaumont, Texas. We all know who they are now.. They've put forth in this ballgame an effort to be proud of." The announce said that right at the end of this video. Shows how close they must have been to being a great team, but still got cut. Let's hope this time around is different
11.
I think the stadium could be a intimadating place for some opponents.  Half the stadium is below ground and the Montange at one endzone and then the field house at the other with the third largest scoreboard in Texas on top of it.  with all that it kind of encloses the stadium and I think with 20-25K fans it could get pretty loud there in my opinion.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. As long as the fans continue to show even after losses. Because there will be losses, it's the start of a new program.
12. Hughes isn't moving anywhere OldTimer. Why would you take a starting quarterback the previous two seasons, with tons of experience in big game atmospheres, as well as the playoffs.. And move a quarterback who has none of those to the same position?
13.
Who will be the back up QB? I would think Christian Louis or Kevin Smith.
Looks like Kevin Smith is the starter now..

Andrew Gay in 02 maybe? And Josh Mitchell graduated in 01 I wanna say, and played at Galveston then A&M Corpus
16.

D1-AA at the football level. D1 every other sport
You guys will learn eventually... DIVISION I in ALL SPORTS. If you played anything besides Division I in football, you wouldn't be eligible for the DIVISION I NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP which will be played between Montana and Villanova at the end of this week. There's a reason it is called Division I football. One of the biggest, to prevent people from calling our basketball and baseball teams 'I-AA' or 'Div 2' as has been the case in recruiting battles. We are Division I. Get used to it...though if you'd prefer, I'll call all your sports Division II, if that's what you want to think you are.
Lmao terror being a stickler. I know buddy. The easiest way to explain to people why we don't play for the BCS national championship is to say D1-AA, instead of just D1.
17. Problem has already been fixed, and the topic is over. Who does LCM have coming this year, other than Waddel?
18. D1-AA at the football level. D1 every other sport
19. Brady is a heck of a ballplayer and could help any team. He hopefully will play for them, because he has potential to play at the college level. And Mack, I have to say one more thing to clear ignorance. Batbreaker I think it's sad that you felt it necessary to create an account just to speak on this subject. I also find it funny that the fact Bell is the coach of the fall, it must mean that is a form of politics? In case you don't know, high school coaches cannot be apart of the fall program, meaning a parent must coach. Bell's dad was nice enough to put forth the time and effort to give these kids a place to play this fall. Don't think that has anything to do with Corbin's playing time. He will be the ace again this year, because of how he pitched last year. Not because of the fact his dad coached the fall team. Quit attacking players and their family members. If you have a problem, contact the coach.. Leave your personal vendetas out of this. Now, this is the last time I will comment on this subject, regardless of your response.
20. So did he sign today, or not? If he signs today, he is going to Tulsa. Looks like the only way he'd come home is if he doesn't have enough credits to transfer now. Is that what I'm reading?
21. batbreaker44.. My name is Tyler Wilson. Most people on this site know who I am. And phatmack, I was logging on this time to say exactly what you said. It's my fault for carrying on the conversation as long as I have. All I was doing was defending my school which I devoted countless hours each week to bettering our program. If I have offended anyone, I am sorry. But I'm doing what everyone should do of their alma-mater, and that is defend it. I will stand by the fact that there is no politics there, trust me.. I know. Until you people tell me your names and TRUE stories as to why you believe there is, I won't believe it. As I stated in nearly every post, I never once put down either player in anyy of my post.. So I have nothing to apologize there. And Mack, again I'm sorry for dragging this conversation on.. You know me, I had good intensions in doing so, it just carried away. The rest of this thread WILL be devoted toONLY District 20-4A pitchers. If you want to continue to debate, then send personal messages.
22. crazy8, first off be a man and post your name with all this stuff. Quit hiding behind 'crazy8'. Since you're so positive about everything and you're the only one who knows what goes on there apparently. The fact that I spent 4 years playing sports and developed relationships with every coach at the school (and btw, as a player you learn an awful lot about your coach) it just happens. And all of the coaches there are great guys. Every player that has gone through that school would tell you that, unless they did something to get in trouble and get kicked off. As for not playing two or sports and blah blah blah.. I know for a FACT the baseball coaches LOVE football players.. Heck, they both help coach on friday nights! They also don't care if you don't, most of the baseball team lastyear was compiled of ONLY baseball players. I don't know who told you what about not playing two sports. The only time I could see that to be true is if you try to play both soccer and baseball, and it's because they PLAY AT THE SAME TIME. And it's kinda funny how you say lumberton sports are below average. Our football team just won back to back district championships a year ago, both of our soccer teams are solid. Girls basketball, softball, and BASEBALL were within a game or two of the playoffs lastyear. Geez, do you expect every sport to make it every year? And sounds like the only true basis is these apparent "hunting trips" that coach goes on paid for by mr. bell? really.. baseball25 is right, get over the fact that he's good.
23. Lamar will be competitive. Garrett started several games against Big D1 programs and played great. Misses home. Will be a terrific addition to the LU football program.
24.
Ha Ha omg you people are nuts.  If you think there is no politics in Lumberton baseball  lumberton football  your on crack.  HMMMM  ask the coach about the hunting trip paid for my Mr. bell.  and who is on Mr. bells payroll during the summer months...  no politics my butt.  As far as who is better at pitching on the team, beats me.  I have not watched a game.  I just couldnt resist responding to the no politics comment.  get real people.
You just contradicted yourself so much. You just said you've never watched any games.. So you have no idea how Mr. Bell has pitched? Just so you know, the guy was first team alldistrict as a SOPHOMORE. Maybe that's why the guy pitched so much. As for the hunting trip, sounds kinda like friends to me. You know, the kind of people you hang out with. But ask around, Corbin isn't too shabby.. If that's your only basis for politics, then don't comment on this thread again. And as for football, don't even talk. There is no politics in that either. Parents make theirselves look like fools and EMBARRASS their kids by complaining to coaches because their kid isn't playing. Get over it. Like I've said in previous post.. This isn't little league and your kid doesn't have to play. If you think he should be playing, then talk to the coach. Quit complaining. Actually, don't talk to the coaches because no coach will change their starting lineup because of what a parent says. THAT is politics. Get over yourselves.
25. bmtball, I don't think you were talking about me when you mentioned bashing, etc... I have said nothing wrong on here. But I do strongly believe there is a big difference between legit division 1 PROSPECT and a player who has already committed or signed with a Division 1 program, which he has yet to do. That's all I was implying. Sure, there are some great 16 and 17 year olds out there, but they're not ready to play division 1 ball. Like I said, Bell has proven himself, Townsend hasn't. Also like I said, Townsend does have talent, and maybe he will be a great pitcher one day. As for politics again, I don't believe there is any.
