  1. at lumberton, we practiced veryyyy early, and around 5 or so at night. We usually got around 8-9 hours of resting time. Heat related accidents are very preventable. It is up to each individual person to take care of their own body. Each person that I've been around when they had heat related accidents didn't drink any fluids, or didn't drink any fluids that are good for you. (Gatorade & water.) Coming from a guy that went through August Two-a-days 3 seperate years, Two-a-days are a vital part of preparing for a season, and they are not going anywhere.
  2. that is the "walk-on" class though. mainly used for BP pitchers, and guys to scrimmage against the real team I'm sure..
  3. and the infield is EXTEMELY hard to maintain..
  4. little too late for that ruckdad. lol and the turf is much better on the body.. plus, no more scrapes and bruises and dirt in places it doesn't belong lol
  5. I drove by it today, if they position the field correctly.. there is enough room in between the soccer and baseball field for the softball field..
  6. you're the only person i know that didn't like them.. And I admit, the hoods were terrible. maybe their mom's thought it would be cold in the montagne? haha
  7. wouldn't surprise me at all! played for woodard at navarro..
  8. Babe Ruth did it on beer on hotdogs. Mantle did it on liquor. Maris, well who knows how he did it. Aaron was all man. But Bonds, McGuire, Sosa.. steroids. And playing drunk does ruin the integrity of a game..
  9. I doubt they'll do that.. the coach will be more worried about the team winning than Mauer hitting .400. But if they're out of it, then it wouldn't surprise me to see him DH.
  10. It's hard to keep locals around here when the campus looks like it does.. When people are getting accepted into A&M, UT, TCU, U of H, even TState.. There is no reason for them to stay. Lamar has to find a way to compete with those schools. A facelift is a good way to start.. and it looks like they're finally getting that going.
  11. I'm all for the shading!! But I'm surprised to read nothing about the turf? I figured it would only cost around $500,000 or so to finish the outfield off..
  12. Or they could just tear down some of the older run down buildings on, or around the campus. There is plenty of them.. lol
  13. yeah baseball's locker rooms are out of date.. and having a full turf field will definitely make their field one of the elite in Texas..
  14. they are smart waiting though, making sure first off that we can win, and second off that we can fill the stadium. the inside of the montagne is fine, other than the hanging scoreboard thing.. that needs to go. and i figure part of that $5 million for beck is finishing turfing the entire field.. but beck is already one of the nicest in the southland. i'm guessing more bleachers, or new bleachers? not sure if any of that is needed..
  15. i thought that is where the softball field was supposed to go?
  16. didn't he sign with pan am originally?
  17. nah. chipper came very close last year, but dropped rapidly towards the end. it's too tough..
  18. nope. i doubt anyone will come near the 73 bonds hit, the 70 mcguire hit, or even the 66 sosa hit. looks like that record will be tainted forever, and there is nothing anyone can do about it..
  19. i think they should fix up the outside of the montagne. not sure how much it would cost, but it's not going to look very good next to a revamped cardinal stadium..
  20. baseball is the best sport at lamar, that's why. and yes, the bball team has some terrible unis. we looked pitiful next to tech's unis when they came down. although that game turned out good ;D but it's good to hear we got new ones!!
  21. now let's get his brother too..
  22. does this surprise anyone? sure hope not
  23. easy coach lol. they're actually getting something done right now so i'm satisfied.
  24. lamar is becoming more and more legit.. lol
