wouldn't surprise me at all. ben wells should consider it.. he'll only be a special teams player at UT looks like -
strangely enough, i don't see anyone from deweyville getting those scholarships? and don't blame it on school size, coaches find the athletes. that's how colt mccoy played at a 1A highschool, and look at him now..

Lamar football renovation project still on hold

but like i said before.. i would rather that than halfway finish the stadium and have to spend more money later. they need to do, and i think they are, the turf first. that way they have a place to practice.. -
which is why it is the perfect time to trade him... a contender (redsox) would love to have him for the stretch run. and then he can sign a free agent contract with someone next season. since this is his contract year. it is the perfect time to get ride of tejada. oswalt - they try to get ride of him every year.. this year hopefully will be the year. lee, who knows what will happen.
-
it's a great chance for most of the players traded.. because most teams that get big name players are contenders, and are trying everything to win that world series. those are the teams that can afford to unload all those prospects, because they know that this year could be their only/best chance to win a world series. so why wouldn't you want to get traded? but like i said, they don't need to make any trade unless it involves infielders or PITCHERS. they do NOT need any outfielders. they have 3 of them stroking at the AA level right now, and 2 of them that the GM said are major league ready right now. they just don't have space for them.

it's cause ppl think that if you don't go D1, then you don't have an NFL future. Every year players from SFA, McNeese, Tarleton (D2), Sam Houston, and Nicholls State get drafted. Even this year Abilene Christian (D2) had more players drafted than Miami (FL) University!

it won't be ready in time. looks like lamar's opening season schedule will probably change.. -
And this is said without having any idea why Georgia State is picking up, correct? Must say the coverage that GSU has had in their start up has been sensational and all other start up programs as of late pale in comparison. And UNLV - have you seen what kind of talent UTSA has picked up? Most recent commit picked UTSA over Big 12 schools who had already offered... you gotta use your noggin there terror.. he will be a star from day one at UTSA. heck, probably a 4 year starter and will end up in their hall of fame. in the big 12, he might only have 2 years of playing time. kinda like how cmike picked A&M, he'll probably be the starter next year.. kinda like jamaal was at UT his freshman year. instead of sittin a year or two at most places, he'll be an impact player right away.

i would change kent for biggio. biggio was more consistent..
-
carlos could get 3 to 4 prospects.. it would be great to unload his contract. wandy has to keep having a great june and july to get anything for him. and i just see ortiz as being an "extra" in any deal that will be made.
-
chavis got solid playing time at A&M too..
-
thought so
-
it's awarded in amounts. like it's a certain dollar amount. one person can get a full ride, one can get their books and tuition, one can get their room and board and books. it doens't go by saying here's $8,000.. pay what you can. so that's my guess..
-
did sam ever get their new turf? or do they still have the rug?
-
competiton wise they are between D1 and D2. the best way to go for baseball is .. D1 Juco NAIA D2 D3
-
that may not be a bad idea though.. they'll get more experience playing in a tougher environment. they'll get to play in front of very big crowds. and plus, why hurry on the stadium. you don't wanna make mistakes and have to spend that money again to renovate mistakes.
-
go read all my past posts.. what makes you think I don't support them? All i said was their stadium won't be a good college stadium until they expand.. I have friends that will be playing for them, so I am definately supporting them. this isn't about the team, this is about the stadium. and I do agree, they shouldn't expand yet.
-
i don't think pence is going anywhere either. we don't need outfield prospects. we have some of the better ones in the minors.. we need pitching, and infielders. our infield could be in a muesuem with kaz, tejada, and blumm. what i would love to see (which won't happen) is the astros put together a package to send tejada and and maybe keppinger to the SOX to get Clay playing for his home team. it will take a lot, but the astros could do it. the sox need the help at shortstop

i've played in better highschool stadiums than lamar's, thats how.. Deerpark, humble, goosecreek. all with the same capacity as lamar's. maybe a couple thousand less. i don't see how the ammenities will be any better? they are getting a new scoreboard, like every other highschool. the BRIGHT spot of lamar is the new field house. they're putting down field turf, just like every other highschool. they have the same concrete bleachers (which do look good) as every highschool stadium in the houston area. most houston schools and MAYBE PN-G have better pressboxes. YES lamar does have room to expand, but NO they aren't doing going to do it for atleast a few years.. that's how it is a joke. and i do know finances is the reason they aren't doing it, but until they expand it, it will remain a glorified highschool stadium. Joke might be a bad word.. but it's not a college facility if you ask me. maybe something will change.

hampton won't get much. neither will keepinger.. he doesn't have huge long term potential because he is already 29, and has 15 career homeruns. not many organizations are looking for that out of a 3B. valverde may get 2 prospects, injury proned. tejada is either 36 or 38 (depending on which birth certificate you look at) his power is dimenishing, and so is his range. again, he could only go to a contender with injuries (IMO boston redsox) and he also will only bring in 2 solid prospects.. max. pudge isn't going to get anyone. this is probably his lastyear. his story is the same as tejada's. if the astros want to get any good prospects, it has to be oswalt, berkman, or hold your breath.. pence
