1. Well, the BISD administration has spent the last 30 years doing everything possible to run all of the white people out of BISD and to make sure no white kids play football in BISD.  So, I find it a bit ironic that we hardly play any white kids and are being dominated by a nearly all white team.  Why don't we have any white kids playing football?  when you only allow the black kids to play then you are shorthanded right off the bat.  Oh well, maybe someday BISD will realize that whites aren't totally retarded.
 2.
They may be better but both teams looked pretty even until th QB went down
Ok.  I guess I'm not a big enough fan to see that.
 3.
As I've watched the first half of this game, I've had a couple of thoughts that continues to run thru my mind. Katy is #9 in the Nation ??? Really ??? Unless they can come out and ram the ball down WB's throat like they said they would, they don't deserve that ranking. And... WB is the real deal and the ball just hasn't bounced their way (literally). I predict stump leads the Bru' Crew back and makes this a decent game.
Oh I know this is a joke.  Katy is dominating us.  Don't you think they may have a little to with the turnovers?  This is embarrassing!!
 4.
Even if Reyes was in, Katy is MUCH better
Exactly.  Katy looks like a college team playing a junior high.  their o-line is huge and they are basically whooping us on both sides of the ball.  Our defense is trying to scrap but they are being dumped on by our offense and they are just way outmanned.
 5.
Too ugly. Couldn't keep watching it. Like a horror movie gone bad. Bruins doing everything right (offensively/defensively) but turnovers are killing them. The final score in this one will not be indicative of the game. It's a shame. And, Reyes is a big loss. Not sure if collarbone or what but looks like it may be. Good luck Bruins.
What?  You must be kidding!!  Hahahaha.  West Brook is being totally dominated.  Katy is so much bigger, faster, and just plain out better than us it isn't even funny!

 7.
You've talked about this topic to the point that even a visitor to your board is getting nauseous.  No one's even talking about this coming Saturday's reality check at Southeastern Louisiana, one of those little po-dunk Louisiana schools that you don't want to be in the same conference with. When you announce concrete plans to increase stadium capacity to 30k, then we'll start talking because there is no way you will continue to average 15k+ per home game.  Texas State will never get out of the shadows of UT.  Lamar and Sam simply don't have the fan support or population level needed.  UTSA.....maybe, if San Antonio shows they care, which to this point, they haven't. If the WAC continues with its rumored expansion plan, the Sun Belch may no longer be the doormat of FBS.  Seriously?  Games with Montana, Montana State, Louisiana Tech, Texas State, UTSA, San Jose State.....this is going to be a better fit for you than the Southland.  I would encourage all of you to look at McNeese.  They average more "real" fans than ULM and ULL.  They beat ULM and ULL when they play them.  They participate in a football playoff instead of hoping to be rewarded with a game in the New Orleans Bowl.  It CAN work in FCS and does work in FCS.  The grass isn't always greener on the other side my friends. As for reality......Hope to see some of you in Hammond this weekend where we'll show you what the SLC is like when there's tape on you.  You, just like Texas State, don't even dominate in the SLC and you think you are worthy of moving up to the next level.  Get a grip.  Win some games, win some championships, actually SELL OUT your stadium on a consistant basis, and then talk like you deserve it.
Settle down sparky!  For starters, there are only a handful of people talking about FBS.  These, people, in my opinoon, are delusional!  I am totally excited abut the FCS and about playing in the SLC!  I think the SLC is a great football conference.  Personally, I expected us to lose to McNEese 56-0.  Anyway I fully expect yall to beat the crap out of us.  But, based on your arrogant post I can't wait for the day we beat the crap out of you!  Sadly, we realistically don't have  a prayer to do that tonight but it won't be long!  Oh, and I could care less if we EVER go to the FBS.  If we can continue to have an atmosphere like we had last week that is perfectly fine with me.
 8.
and i think us students rushing the field after the game with the big l-u chant on the 50 would be a real nice tradition to start up
I agree, EXCEPT let the teams shake hands first and make sure the other team is out of the way or something ugly could start.  Oh, and yall need to be on the same page as the football team.  Yall are all whooping it up in the center of the field and the football team is over in front of the band while they play the school song.  Oh well, it was the first home game in 21 years so yall can work out the kinks.
 9.
Honestly, after this game vs Webber what part of the team doesn't have you worried?
LOL!!!!  So true!  I think the water boy did a good job.  Oh, and the cheerleaders were pretty.
alot of colleges kick off at 6 ???  guess so you get home before midnight.  Its SE Texas...suck it up.
YEAH!!
At 7:30 or 8:00 on Saturday night I hate to admit this but you would be going up against ESPN and one of their top games of the weekend. It is usually hotter in College Station than Beaumont. So, I guess I agree with puddin tane's comments.  Pre ESPN I would say yea let's move back the starting time. Our next home game will be in Oct. so the temp will be cooler.
You still miss these ESPN games it we kickoff at 6.  Maybe we should just kickoff at 1 pm.
 11.
I am concerned about the kicking game, from what I have seen the past 2 games looks like the kid is struggling.  Kick Offs need special attention, in college you do not KICK OFF to the 30, 20, etc.    The atmosphere Saturday was unbelievable from all the tailgating to the KICK OFF.  Everybody was so excited for LAMAR to be back,  but like Woodard has said they are a young team and there are things that need to be worked on.  It is obvious that special teams need some work.
I am too.  I thought some kid from Nederland tried out and got beat out?  The kid we have seems to have a fairly weak leg.
 12.
I'm talking about Texas State.  You guys are going to sell out your first few games this year and maybe even the entire season, depending on your record midseason.  It's my personal opinion that your sellouts won't continue but as others have pointed out, I don't have any proof of that.
Not trying to be rude, but athletics are about money. You don't NEED a consistently winning product to field a FBS team, you need money. Pride? It comes with winning, which can indirectly be tied with the amount you are willing to spend on your head coach. Texas State isn't going about this move without the funding and facilities needed (like we tried in the past). The reason we will NOT become the next ULM? Because our budget is already twice what theirs is - and it is still on the rise. We cannot sell out the stadium we have because of the competitors we face. It isn't your fault you are not well known in Texas, or that our apathetic fans don't care to see you. Keep in mind we are the 5th largest university in Texas and roughly twice the size of SELU. Dog on us all you want, but roughly 90% capacity for a DII team isn't bad. And to your point about the money being used towards something else, get a grip. Students are paying ridiculous fees to help fund this. We voted for it, we are paying for it. It is what we the students want. To the Sam, Lamar, SLC, whoever: if you believe this is such a stupid and idiotic move, then PLEASE don't follow us to FBS. Stay FCS where you can make the playoffs, maybe one you yall can become the next Montana.
Man, I would be stoked if we become the next Montana!!
me? nowhere, but lots of old folks and little kiddos dont want to be out till midite...aint 1963, teams dont grind it out with the wishbone anymore..games last longer...start em at 7:30, you'll be playing the 4th qtr with about 3,000 fans. heck, people were leaving LU in the early 4th qtr! My kid called from college..the aggies kicked off at 6...dont hear them complaining..and thats 80,000 sweaty bodies in a stadium that smells like a urinal......(yeah, it does aggie fans)
You seem to be missing the point.  I don't care what the Aggies do.  I am talking about what would make the most sense.  I stayed the whole game  and I think I was home  at 9:30 or 10.
 14.
Thanks again, y'all. Tents and Chairs have been reordered. However, we will not recieve them until mid December. Late for this years football season, but perfect for Christmas. See ya soon, Go Cards
My wish list:  comfortable stadium chairs, aluminum (not powder coated steel) outdoor portable/fold-up chairs, a red flag with just LU in white letters.  Can yall hook me up?
 15.
Add SFA... that's two teams higher than Lamar with SHSU likely to join. Lamar #72 Northwestern State #66 SFA #61
Based on the past six years, I am shocked we are even ranked.

I mean people are gonna have bad games! Bevil will be fine! Has won on all levels so far and he will continue to win! The cards will compete week in and week out!
Haters?  Talking about how the team played isn't being a hater??!!  That's part of what is fun about sports...talking about the game.  Geez..what, are we all just supposed to say "golly, we played swell.  Everyone played perfectly."

 19.
[Hidden Content]
How fast is that Prejean kid?  He looked like he was shot out of a cannon...he was flying on that touchdown! I thought Hussey and the other little running back ran well.  Hussey looks a bit better between the tackles and the other kid looks a bit quicker.  They are both fun to watch.  I also thought our kids played really hard and were really classy throughout the game.  They didn't do a lot of that taunting nonsense that you see so much today.  They got excited and celebrated good plays but I never really saw them taunting anyone.
 20.
We've shot ourselves in the foot enough that we should only have one left
No kidding!  Man, we screwed ourselves so many times it is unreal!!!!
 21.
Webber been studying film, playing well.
Totally agree.  I thought we were outcoached...sorry coach Woodard, I love you and think you will do fantastic here but, in this game, our coaches got schooled!  We didn't make any adjustments and Bevil kept throwing the ball into double and triple coverage.  It seems we were determined to throw the ball down field regardless of what defense they were playing.  Oh, and can we PLEASE use Chavis in the offensive scheme!!  Geez, the guy is a freak of an athletic specimen.  Certainly he can catch a pass?
 22.
Some of those interceptions tonight were result of actually good defense!
Well, Bevil mad a lot of really boneheaded throws and a lot of really bad throws.  I love his quickness and he can definitely throw the deep ball.  But, man...someone has to teach him about 2 deep zones.  Someone has to tell him it is ok to dump the ball off to your running back that has noone covering.  Someone has to tell him to take care of the damn ball.  Even with as poorly as we played I am still pumped as hell.  Actually even more pumped by the fan support.  I could not believe all the tailgating before the game.  That was incredible.  If that continues then the good football will come eventually.  Maybe not this year or next but it will come if give that kind of support.  Personally, I really could care less if we win as long as the community is going out and having a good time.  But, we will have to win eventually (against teams better than NAIA teams) or people will quit going. All in all I am pumped!  Bevil just needs to pull his head out of his rear.
 23.
Great atmosphere! Very hot tho. Heard dozens were treated by EMS for heat including band members. Actually glad it was a close win, bring some people back down to earth and remember its a 1st year program. Remember, teams now have film on the Cards so it will not get any easier! PS...anyone here the PA announcer keep telling the fans to stand up and make noise when LU had the ball? LOL...then LU got a false start. YES!!!!  Can you believe that????!!!!  Someone needs to explain some things to him.  We are not supposed to get up and make noise while we have the ball!!!!!!!!!  Not oddly enough, we had an illegal procedure during one of those "make noise" episodes!! Also, it was pretty dang hot.  Can't we start the games at 7 or 7:30 until the weather gets a little cooler?
24.
Actually was right call before flag thrown comments in our suite were made.  Very nasty hit..
I thought it was a horrible call, not only was the webber guy not going to be anywhere close to making the play it looked like a legal block on the outside of the shoulder.
 25.
If you call someones comments idiotic say why
Ok.  Your facilities aren't any better than Lamar's, probably worse.  Educationally, Lamar is a much better institution than SFA, and just because you play ATM doesn't mean Wells will be 'scouted' more.
