gotta say nice atmosphere...atta way to boo an naia team...classy...almost as classy as the crop dusters you had fly over....oh andbnice home cooking on the push off in the endzone
LOL on the crop duster comment. However, are we supposed to cheer the opponent?  Oh you must be one of those feel good liberals?  There's no winners or losers right?  Everyone is a winner in your eyes!  No valedictorians...don't wanna hurt anyone's feelings, right?  You probably want to do away with grades and all competition. As far the push off...there wasn't one.  However, we did sack their qb 2 yards deep in the end zone for a safety and it wasn't called a safety.  And, where is this phantom block in the back on our punt return for a touchdown?  I think one of the feel good refs dropped that flag after we scored.  And, what about our number 95 being blatantly held on their 4th and 10 touchdown run with no call?
Hopefully we will make him regret his decision.  It probably comes down to not wanting to be in his hometown.  A lot of kids want to go off to school.  Can't blame him if that is the case.
SFA is much more of a college town with a college atmosphere. The facilities are top notch, and there is no drop off in education. He is guarnteed wins there, not to mention they play A&M this year so he will get scouted even more. I know everyone wants him at Lamar, but as of now he made the right decision.
Sfa is more of a college town.  Other than that, your comments are idiotic.
Why in the world would we want to go to the WAC?!  Granted, the money would be great but other than that it is just crazy.
As others have posted in previous threads, it would only make sense if they could establish an Eastern division around La Tech of Tx, NM, OK, Ark, or La schools so that it would reduce travel requirements.  However UTSA may not care about that and be willing to travel out west for the majority of their games.
That's exactly right.  It only makes sense if there's an Eastern division, which I think there's a good chance of that happening.  By going FBS then you can get the Sun Belt and CUSA type schools into Beaumont, otherwise we'll see these non-D1 schools every year.  Basketball would be a lot more fun with teams like La Tech, Utah State and New Mexico State coming to town.  But Dr. Simmons may not want Lamar to go FBS at this time.
We can't even win iin the SLC.  And what kind of rivalry would it be playing Utah State or New Mexico State?  Big whoop.  Who is going to make that road trip?

Texas st then could bring in home games the likes of BYU, Alabama, K-st, Houston, TCU, and Texas Tech type teams. I think PU should be expanded to 40k if LU goes FBS. I am very sure Texas st and UTSA is getting the WAC invite spring 2011 or sooner. LU should join them. This a big door opening to FBS. Once you are in, you are in. Nobody can knock you out. FBS is working overtime to stop FCS upgrades and eventually it will happen. So LU can't mess around being too picky about moving up or LU will find itself locked out.
I'm no architect or engineer but I have done some looking and projecting of my own and I don't see how they can get more than 32-34k max capacity.  there are real space limitations for PU.  And I think they put the Athletic Complex a little to close to the stadium limiting the largest space they had available for expansion, the south end zone.  I have looked several times and I am unsure about the ability to put a upper deck on the east side.  I believe with some engineering genius, it probably could be done, or they could extend the east stadium seats further up.  But the railroad tracks are a problem and I believe there are federal regulations as to how close structures can be to railroad tracks.  I do believe you can get some stadium seating between the Montagne and the endzond (bleow the suites) but it will not add a great deal of capacity.  The west side is even more space limited and maybe the best tehy can do is to put a real nice and spacious suite box that is first class and goes from goal line to goal line.  The closer they can get to 40k the better.
Lets worry about filling the seats we have first.
It is not good news. The Bruins scored in the top of the first then fell apart in the bottom half. Several walks and three errors plus a big error by an umpire led to Pearland scoring 8 runs on 3 hits..... then it got worse. Final : Pearland 13, West Brook 1 - 5 innings
3 errors in the first inning??!!!  Nice.  Umpire error probably wouldn't account for a 13-1 loss.  Their baseball "P.E." is a complete and total joke.  We will likely be first round and out until he is gone.

I think he would be a home run!
Are you kidding?? Quinn Snyder???  NO NO NO NO.  That guy was a disaster at Missouri.  Alvin Brooks?  Wasn't he a disaster at UH?  Never heard of Rodney Terry.  As for Snyder and Brooks, I would prefer NOT to hire someone that's already proven they can't coach.  Even though I love Brooks.  Man, what a point guard!!  I guarantee you he could still school anyone we have on campus.  I wonder if he has any eligibility left?
Snyder was a suggestion that I simply agree with.  He was hardly a disaster at Missouri.  126-91 in his time there include 4 straight NCAA appearances including an elite 8.  That is not a disaster.  He did do some things that were frowned upon but a second chance for a guy like this could work.  As for the other stuff with Brooks and Terry.......I am just telling you the things that I KNOW are going on.  That's it.  Not my ideas.
Boy, he really had them heading in the right direction! 22.
this will be a really good move for the football program :)
It should also keep the seats in the Montagne in great shape...since nobody will be sitting in them.  ::)

 24.
Lynch should make an impact for LU next year. He's been averaging over 20 points per game during the playoffs.  It should be interesting to see how well he plays against Yates tomorrow. 6-8 LU signee Michael Kyser only had 4 points.  Too bad 6-10 Bohannon isn't coming to LU instead.
A 6-8 high school player that only scored 4 pts.  Yikes.  I'm 5'9, old, and fat and I could go for at least 5 pts.
 25.
SOS and RPI will only get worse for lamar playing PView today and then texas southern next week.
I love how some people continue to dog Gilligan and the baseball program even after someone posts FACTS about them having played one of the tougher schedules in the conference and being the highest ranked team thus far in the conference.
