Central - Many returning starters and with the Goof troop gone, I agree that Central should challenge for the title. 3. PN-G - They won't have 2 horrible years in a row with Faircloth at the helm. 4. Ozen - I expect everything the team does will center around Brown with all his all world speed. Vidor - they'll  it hard to replace Quirante.  6. LC-M 7. Livingston 8. Lumberton 1. North Shore 2. Memorial 3. West Brook 4. LaPorte 5. Deer Park 6. Sterling
Brown is extremely gifted athletically but, insignificant as a football player! Ozen's team will be led by #11 who's the heart and soul of their defense. And be on the look out for the new RB who's going to be stud.

Channelview 3. Sterling 4. PAM ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. La Porte 6. West Brook 7. North Shore :P
^^^ thats a joke btw. my prediction is 1. PAM 2. LP 3. NS 4. Channelview 5. Deer Park 6. WB 7. Sterling
If Coach F. Picks the right QB the Bruins will be top four, if not, well the season will look a lot like this year.
I'm sure he wanted Lumberton to practice breaking the press...  ;D

They almost lost to PNG because they couldn't get there shots to go down.  There is a lot of basketball left. Anything could happen! Also IMO, the BMT schools should be the top runners in the district in all three sports. Football, Basketball, Baseball.  You have 100K + to choose from with a open enrollment with a 5A school already in the area vs the rest of the district with 16k that have 1 school. I think Ozen and Central should be playing 5A. IMO, i think if you have a area with 5A numbers and a open enrollment, you should be playing 5A. Or close the open enrollment and make them go to the school in there living zone. I bet there are some 7 graders and 8th graders right now playing together from different zones in BMT debating on what school they should all go to when they get to high school. Other schools in the district don't have this luxury.
Using your example, Worthing High , Davis, Sterling, YEP, etc all should have good basketball programs in Houston because of the population advantage, but they don't.  #2, there isn't a school in this area who can compete in 5-A playoffs against Houston schools. But 4-A is wide open- no dominant teams.
Do those schools have open enrollment? Sure there is! Ozen and Central would compete just fine in 5-A.  If i am not mistaking but Ozen has won some state titles in 4-A already in there short school history.  I know it will never happen but i think both schools belong in 5-A.
So you want Ozen with its 1200 students and Central with its 1600 students to compete 5A? Your whole thought pattern is flawed. Once again meaningless...
The open enrollment is why i say they should be 5-A.  The Hunter boys could transfer to Central if they wanted or all the starters from Central could have chosen to attend Ozen. Some of the starters from WB could as well.  Yeah that's real fair for other 4-A schools in the district.  ::) Close the open enrollment and make kids go to the school in there school zone and i am good with it.
Really? So Nederland sports have never benefited from Port Arthur transfers? And none of what you're talking about has anything to do with how UIL classifies schools.

 7. At the end of the day Central won! Talk and post whatever you like but, you can't change that fact. For the second time this season.  ;D Use your dictionary to look up the word for a team that loses twice to another team! Lmbo

Come on man! U ignored AAW's comment about seating that he has seen in most gyms. We enforce this same rule when PNG comes to town. Why do so many people want to go to the rave card so quickly and repeatedly? When Nederland played Central this year in football, which searing section did you sit in? When you go to a Rockets game with a seat number, do you tell them you can sit where you want to sit? Ironically, every time I have ever observed a seating controversy at a sporting event, the police/security are involved. Rules are rules, just follow them. I know, I know, it's much easier to just play the race card. ::)
Race card? Racism and being discriminated against is not a game! I know you would know nothing of this and therefore can easily make light of the subject. There's no card being played. If you want to speak of ignorance, you just demonstrated that you believe discrimination only goes in one direction. It shows YOUR ignorance sir. 10. And by the way, no one took the seats that the Central fans were forced to give up. They remained empty for the duration of the game.
 11. The entire seating area across the from the scoring table was ninety eight percent Nederland fans. And you want to cut the side behind the scoring table in half. My question is, does NISD expect the entire Central basketball fan base to sit in that little fourth of gym space? And are they really going to use the Nederland police to enforce that ridiculousness?
 12. Nothing is really wrong with the Bulldogs. They are simply just the third best team in 20-4A. It's actually quite obvious.

Central played 5 against 8 all night.
seriously? ??? The foul count was about even for the game. Oops, actually Ned had 3 more fouls than Central including a player with 2 clean blocks who fouled out. ::) The refs were consistent, what more do you want? Central was clearly the better team tonight, learn to WIN with class. ::)
Really class? How about teaching number 1 to play with and have some class about himself. Oh and it was real classy going get the police to make black people give up their seats for no apparent reason. The game was only as close as it was because of the officiating. Central is the better team period, not just tonight!
 14.

Ned Fresh up 57-18 after 3 Qs. They won by 20 or so. Don't remember score. 5 on 5 may know.
67-47 was the final in the freshman game. Ned was up by nearly 40 at one point. The second group played in the fourth quarter.
I wouldn't get too excited! Central has two freshmen on varsity and at least three other freshmen on JV.
 15. Went to this game and the refs were horrible! Central played 5 against 8 all night.
 16. The JV team myth: Central started two freshman that game that were new to not only varsity basketball but, high school basketball. The other three staters had one year of high school basketball experience. Fielding a JV team or not, it's arguable that your Silsbee Tigers were the more experienced team.
 17.
That is not bias, that is fact based on the personnel of each team. Central still has the same team they started the season with, Silsbee does not. Is Central playing better basketball than they were early in the season? YES!! But Silsbee was basically fielding a JV team those first 3 weeks of the season and now have their full compliment of a varsity team (4 varsity players before, 14 now). Three of Silsbee's top 5 scorers (1. Elam, 2. Holmes, 4. Reed) were still playing football and 4 of the first 5 off the bench(Jackson, Barnes, Brydson, Scott) were still in football those first 3 weeks. Personnel wise, Silsbee is no where near the team they were those first 3 weeks than what they are now. You cannot make that claim with Central. Silsbee has grown much more as a team than Central. That is a fact, not opinion.
Nope it's your opinion and you're entitled to it. But, there are some who believe the Jags have grown more as a team and it's their opinion.

They play some local 4A and a ton of 2A schools. No school they have played so far this year besides Central and Longview could stay in the gym with Silsbee. Not even Kountze!
You are aware that Kountze have already beaten Silsbee by 20 already, right?
and we all know that was 3/4 Silsbee JV team at that time. Only 4 (just 2 starters) of the current 14 varsity players were playing at that time. But, that team was good enough to beat Central the week before. ;)
...and good enough to loose to a Baytown Lee team AFTER receiving the football boys back? 8)
Soulja, your basketball credibility is lacking if you are saying that Silsbee is the same team now as they were the first 3 weeks of the season. The Baytown Lee loss was a bad loss for Silsbee even tough it was the first game with the football players with 1 practice under their belts and on the road. A couple of those football players did not even suit out for that game. Do I think Silsbee beats Kountze now? Yes. Do I think Silsbee beats Central now? I don't know but I like their chances. I can assure you that based on what I have seen from watching Silsbee and Central early part of the season till now, Silsbee has improved much more as a team than what Central has done thus far. Does that equate in a Silsbee win over Central right now? No it doesn't. But then again, Central had no business losing to a Silsbee JV team neither. ;)
Since the Silsbee/Central game the Jags have lost three games, the Tigers have lost seven. Two of which to a good Nederland squad that Central has beaten once. You're making at bias statement as a fan of the Tigers but, the proof is in the pudding. Central has grown more as a team!
 19. Having seen both, I have to say that Jordan Hunter has more facets to his game and is the better player at this stage.
