After a 1-9 season, I think it has to be Ozen. I don't think anyone is giving them a chance. I believe they will be right in the thick of the playoff run in this district.

He's not from the area, but today in the Lufkin West Brook scrimmage their kicker almost hit the scoreboard on an extra point attempt. The kid kicked it 7 yards deep into the endzone on every kickoff.

West Brook and Lufkin played 3 12 min quarters in a game styled scrimmage. West Brooks defense looked really good. And before you run to the score, Lufkin score 2 TDs on one play bombs and another 2 TDs on fumble returns and 1 TD on a interception return. West Brooks secondary is still a question mark. The front 7 is fast. They cause several Lufkin fumbles. West Brook's coaching staff was obviously trying to figure out which QB they are going with cause they passed most of the scrimmage. They didn't run the ball much at all. Lufkin has a WR thats lighting fast, on the two scores he just blew by the WB defender like he was standing still. On defense Lufkin has two hugh run stoppers in the middle of their D-line.

This is very sad indeed. A life snuffed out for no apparent reason. It pisses me off when I read articles like this. My condolence goes out to this kids family and his extended Westfield family. I will keep both in my prayers.

I went to the scrimmage and Ozen is a better team then they were last year. They are once again loaded in the skills postions. They have a DB by the name of Newton that is a shut down corner. He had 3 picks and he played the run well. I still think they lose to WB and MEM, but will compete for one of the playoff spots in district. Any team that goes up against them thinking they have it easy cause they went 1 -9 last year will get beat. Look out for those Panthers.

I remember that I was going to be a freshman at WB the next year. Didn't Central have 5 plays inside the 3 yard line and couldn't punch it in? Yeah that team was good, I think the got as high as 5th in the State that year.

Dude I have been to Ozen's practices and there is nothing big about there offensive line. In fact I would say the West Brook's defensive line is bigger than Ozen's offensive line. Ozen does have really good athletes in the skills positions. If there lines O and D hold up, it will be a competitive game if not West Brook runs away with this one. I pick the Bruins by 17.

No I don't hate Mid County. I have no reason to. I went to a scrimmage and then posted the my oppinion of what I saw. There were some good things about the Indians and there were some bad things, Im just willing to post both.

You look at the video it shows exactly what I said that your QB is good and you guys didn't have any success on offense until late in the scrimmage. And if we are talking about should of, then Jasper should of had three more TD on fumble returns that clearly would of went for scores if the Refs didnt blow them dead after the players took off in the other direction.

If Hemmings was blowing by everyone and you guys were hitting and doing all this great offensive stuff, then please explain the fact that you only scored once the entire scrimmage and that was on a 15 yard pass.

Hemmings had one run of more than 20 yards, thats it. And PNG didn't have any success on Offense until late in the scrimmage after an undermaned Jasper team got tired.

It was because you guys chop block. I don't know if you know this or not but chop blocking while a player is being blocked by another player is illegal. Every sweep you guys ran out of your Far set had illegal chop blocks going on. Thats why they were pissed off. As they should be. Oh yeah you guys got out scored in that scrimmage since people say you don't win or lose scrimmages.

Dude I was at you guys scrimmage and there nothing smash mouth about the style of this years PNG Indians football team. Your QB is going to be really good if you can keep him upright. The 2 RBs Tezeno and Hemmings are ok. But thats were the truck stops, you will compete in district for a playoff spot. Lamarque is just to fast for you guys. I say the Coogs by 14.

I would also have to say that the third playoff spot is a 4 horse race between Ozen, Nederland, PNG, and LCM. The battle for this spot will be fun to watch. I hope they don't have another coin flip. ;D

Not only this but some of the staff from the Central team thats been winning the Mid County Maddness is now coaching for Ozen. So at the very least they should know what plays to call to beat them. My picks are as follows: 1. Central 2. Dayton 3. Ozen 4. LCM 5. Nederland 6. Lumberton 7. PNG 8. Vidor

Yes a good showing for both teams, but Jasper could of easily had 2 more scores on fumble returns that were blown dead after they took off with the ball. Also the PNG QB has a really nice arm and is accurate.

West Brook wins district followed by Memorial, Kingwood, then Lee. The Bruins will have the strongest running game with a very good passing game. Also the speed of this years defense is going to catch some people by surprise. West Brook all the way baby.
