[/quote]I appreciate your apology and accept it with good feelings.  I have a new subject for you.  I have heard that there will not be an athletic banquet this year.  It is my understanding the Seniors and the athletes that will be awarded awards will be invited to the honors banquet and the others will get a b.b.q. meal during school one day and a play day.  I feel all the athletes deserve recognition for their hard work, even if they do not recieve an award.  Our school has lost a sense of pride if they are not willing to honor all the athletes. All that gas you used driving to Austin this year helped contribute to the rising cost! haha [/quote] When one district gives a tax break, and ExxonMobil moves product from other districts at tax time to that district to avoid paying taxes...... I know it a sound business move, but is it right?  Dont pay taxes in other areas and write the tax break district a check.  Save millions of dollars that way. I do not buy fuel from them for that reason.  I know that what I spend in diesel is not that much in the overall scheme of things, its the principle.

Last time I checked, Cody Cook was starting and he runs about 160. Luster can't weigh 265. 235 maybe. I say that, because I have walked beside them. I averaged the five offensive lineman who were starting and came up with 224.

Thank you for your point. My point is this, the charges may have been dropped at a later date. The kid is telling everyone at school that he bailed himself out not the coach. If the charges were dropped, why would he have to post bail? That is my question and concern. The story seems really cloudy.

I did a little checking on that statement. If Coach Henry wanted to get closer to home, he could have taken the WH basketball job he was offered this past summer. That might be why they called him a traitor.

Well said Swaimi. Heard the position is being posted as a Var FB coach/Girls BB. I hope that they get a BB coach.

Coach Melancon is a good coach. I have observed many of her games over the years. She has grown as a coach and gotten better. Even though a person has the title of coach, that does not mean they know everything. Coaches learn from their sucesses and mistakes. Experience makes a great teacher. I bet that she learned from that lose and became better. Yeas, Ceaser is talented. But she does not make a whole team. She also had slumps and her teammates carried the team. I do not blame her for wanting out. Crazy parents and poor admin support. One parent threatened her. Why subject yourself to that? This is a game, not life or death. Dozier had no spine to do what was right. The situation that HD is in I guess it is better to let her coach VB and track than to be down 3 coaches. IMO

Swami, You beat me to it. Firedup, Why would she want to coach second guessing her every move? Every coach has a different style, and I guess that she does not fit your mold. She made the decision to not coach BB last year due to poor support of upper admin. A reoccuring problem at Daisetta.

I have been pretty headstrong in what I believe. Experience is a great teacher. The problem is that Coach Slack does not have enough. The incident in RJ's is a prime example. Anybody who has been a supervisor, knows that he crossed the line with the verbal abuse( and it was abuse). This occurred in a public place and was in front of athletes. That is [glow=red,2,300]VERY UNPROFESSIONAL[/glow]. Birdwell has the right to file a grievence but it too nice of a person to do that. To Birdwell, I have the utmost respect. I hope that he (Slack)exercises better judgement with the kids. I wish the kids the best of luck. They need it, with the turmoil that has occured around them this summer. Just tell it like it is. Remember, a man is only as good as his word. I believe that Reality said that about Barbay. Enough said on this subject.
