The releiver can return to the mound if he stayed on the field. He can even leave again and return up to once an inning. The only pitcher that can leave the game and return to pitch is the starter. This just never happens around here.

There are many things written on these sports message boards that are simply untrue. Most of us read these statements, smile, and read on. Today I have read what very well may be the most inaccurate post that has ever been made on this board. PNG Proud wrote that the announcer from LCM is obnoxious. You could count on one hand the number of men in South East Texas as honorable as this man.

Our game with Houston Christian is not a tune up game. It is a non conference regular season game. Just like the games the Indians played on Saturday's during the district race. We have clinched a playoff spot and it is either first or second. It is not bold to prepare for either scenario nor is it out of the ordinary. The only thing that is out of the ordinary is that you know we are preparing for either scenario. We chose to use this internet site to to let our people know we have a game and to help us find a local team to play so we don't end up traveling to Houston two Tuesday's in a row.

To take the place of our 20-4A bye on the 25th, we have added a game vs. Houston Christian. We will travel to Baseball USA to play HC at 6:00 this coming Tuesday. We would also like to put the word out that we would like to play a 3A or 5A tune up game or two the 1st week of May. If we lose 2 of 3 and tie with Nederland or lose 3 of 3 and get second we are looking for one game. If we win at least two of the next three, we are looking to play a good local team (preferably with more than one LHP) a Mon/Fri home and away, or a Tues/Fri home and away, or a Wed/Fri home and away. We would also consider playing a tune up game at Lamar if anyone is interested. ps hfinthestands we are not counting our chickens, we are preparing for both scenarios.

In my opinion, walking hitter after hitter until the sun sets so the game can start over the next day is pretty sorry for someone to do. Rogers "getting out" in a hurry to get to the end of the fifth inning borders on genius. Might I recommend that he simply step on the plate and bunt next time to arrive at the desired result in less pitches.

Walking people to let the sun set and avoid a loss? Not very sportsmanlike, but a believable strategy for the win at all cost guy. In this case the "cost" would be the respect of the enitre local baseball community. If that ever took place, I totaly understand the implementation of the "start where we left off" rule.
