Central isn’t just any public school. They play a National schedule and MaxPreps had them #14 to start the year. Their only losses last year were to Bosco and Bishop Gorman.

They added 2 teams to each side this year for a total of 20 teams. The brackets were set before the tourney, so not sure how it was drawn up. The bye is a huge advantage in a tourney like this with the pitch count rules. That extra game really isn’t fair to the teams that don’t get a bye
