2. IMO, Nederland has the best 1-2 punch(Bellow & Laird), and the best depth among all the teams in the district.  They have 5 guys that saw innings last year deep in the playoffs.  That experience should only help the Dogs this year.

WOS One game series vs. a three game series could change positions in some cases.
Who are Vidor's hitters this year besides Hester?  Hester is one of the top players in the district, but they need some young guys to step up at the plate.  Hagler and ??? . Pitch around Trae and you should be able to beat Vidor.
5. I was looking forward to 2 undefeated teams battling for the district title next week.  Central losing took away some of the luster for this game, but it still should be a hard fought game.  If PNG's defense can take away the big play around the ends, they should win easily. PN-G wins by 10
6.
Well, I decided to apply badndn's 12-hour rule for posting after last night.  ;D I haven't read through every post, so I don't know who has been classless in posting or not. Nor do I really care. The reason we lost is simple: We came out soft. The defense played soft the entire first drive, kind of like someone said "Let's defer until the second half and give them the ball so we can see what they'll do on offense." NO! That is what we supposedly watch film for! We battled back, yes, but we never should of had to. We should have came out early and punched them in the mouth. We didn't. The defense never looked good until the third quarter. Was there some questionable calls? Yes. Even the glorious scoreboard the announcer kept mentioning all night clearly showed that Dozhier's hand was going forward and that was not a fumble. You would have to have zero knowledge about the game to think that was a fumble. But still, Nederland got the ball. But I can't blame the loss on that. Bad calls happen in games. I'm sure that Nederland would like to complain about the bad call of uneccesary roughness in the fourth. That kid couldn't stop and was already too close when the whistle was blown. But bad calls are, unfortunately, part of the game. You have to be able to overcome them. Plain and simple, if we hadn't played so darn soft at the beginning of the game and had not let them score with ease on that first drive, we win the game. But, just like the PN-G game, we waited too long to pull the trigger. I hope that this is classy enough. I don't see anything in here that could be considered classless, especially after the rigamarole that happened after the PN-G game. Boys, you have to wake up. You play like this against Livingston next week, who just happened to beat Central by the way, and we'll be sitting at home again after district. You better get fired up early. Pull the trigger!!
I was suprised that when Vidor won the coin toss they did not take the ball.  I thought with Vidors offense they would want to send a message from the beginning.  Instead Nederland took the ball and controlled the clock the whole 1st quarter.
7.
I have a question about the Nederland-Ozen game.  The final score you have is 16-10.  When Ozen scored in OT to end the game they kicked the PAT anyway to make it 17-10.  I know in college and pros the PAT isn't attempted because the outcome is already decided.  Just wondering what the high school rule is, and what the actual final score was?  With point differencial being the tie breaker, this could make a difference.  The way 20-4a is this year every point matters.
Anyone know the actual final score to this game?????
8. I agree Jake, Nederland had 10 men in the box the whole night. In the playoffs, teams are bigger and faster and will shut down that offense.
9. I may be wrong, but I think the point differencial only includes the games against teams that are tied.  So games against PNG, Central, and LCM wouldn't factor in to your equation.  Nederland would be +12.
10. In Dionte's 2 starts, he has thrown for 491 yards and 6 TD's with 0 fumbles.  He has provided the shot in the arm that the Dogs needed.

13.
Shout out to Nederland's offensive line. Monte had a great call on the shuffle pass to Ruzik. Let's hope Marcus Louvier can get back, he's had a heck of a season.
Marcus had a great game tonight until he got hurt.  They are telling us its a high ankle sprain and he will get x-rays in the morning.  Hopefully its not serious and he can be back for Lumberton next week.
14. What is that all time series record again?
15. Great game Dogs! Keep it going into next week.
16. Ballgame.  Dogs win 22-20!!!!
17. Fair catch called by Vidor at 1 yard line????  99 yards to go with 27 seconds
18. Short.  Vidor will get the ball back with about 30 seconds left.
19. The red went and checked for footprint.  3rd & 2. Vidor out of time outs.
20. 8 yard run by Cardenas
21. Nederland ball on Vidors 47 with 1:31 left.  1 first down and this game is over.
22. Jackson Brousard with a big sack. Personal foul on Ned.  Terrible call gives Vidor 1st down
23. 2nd & 20 for Vidor at their 45
