I'm not going to be able to make this game, so if anyone listening on the computer or at the game can post updates, it would be greatly appreciated.

I admire him for toughing it out behind the plate, but Nederland is not going to stop running just because he's hurt.

Not trying to knock a kid and stoop down to Friendswood fans level, but defensively there is not a D1 or JUCO team that I believe he could catch for. Maybe he has another position he was recruited to play, this I don't know. He has the weakest arm I have ever seen from a catcher at this level of competition. Nederland had 5 or 6 stolen bases last night and none of them were even close. When walks and singles turn into doubles and triples, it makes it tough for a team to win this far along in the playoffs. Look for Nederland to have their running shoes on tonight and be very aggressive on the base paths.

Friendswood's cockiness came back to bite them in this game. Nederland looked dead at the plate the first 3 innings, taking a lot of strikes and not being very aggressive with the bats. Then the Fitzpatrick kid hit the HR and blew kisses to the Nederland stands as he rounded the bases. That was the spark the Dogs needed to get them going. Nederland looked like a different team in the 4th and scored 2 runs to tie the game. The next inning Trevin Sonnier comes up, and fouls one off of his foot and goes down in the box. While he was down, the Friendswood fans were laughing and making inappropriate comments. After dusting himself off, he drove the next pitch he saw to the right centerfield wall for a go ahead RBI double. The moral of the story is: Don't make the Dogs mad, they'll come out and bite ya!
