Stories about Texas and other in state schools

They weren’t even the best team on the field that night. If they play 10 times, USC wins 6 or 7. Miami had 17 1st rounders on their 2001 team. Crazy -
THE WAR ON STRAWS IN NOT BASED ON FACTS After Seattle imposed the country’s first ban on plastic straws earlier this month, Starbucks announced it would eliminate straws franchise-wide, replacing them with a new “sippy cup” style lid that doesn’t utilize a straw. The move has earned praise from environmental activists, who are calling for more companies to follow suit. But here’s the thing. The new lids actually use more plastic than the old lid and straw combination. The old lid and straw contained 3.55 grams of plastic. The new lid contains 4.11 grams of plastic. It seems the law of unintended consequences has struck again. What’s more, all the celebrity activism and political legislation ignores one basic fact. Straws are not the problem. They were targeted after a 2015 video of a straw lodged in a sea turtle’s nose went viral and brought attention to the problem of plastic pollution in the oceans. But the focus on straws is completely misguided. Straws account for just 2,000 tons of the nine MILLION tons of plastic that are estimated to enter the ocean each year, which can break down into micro-plastics and leech into the stomachs and flesh of sea creatures. In other words, anti-straw activists are focusing their efforts on just 0.02% of the plastic pollution problem. And it’s not even U.S. waste that’s causing the majority of the problem. The United States, which has one of the best waste management industries in the world, is responsible for just 1% of plastic waste entering the oceans. Instead, the real culprit behind the plastic that’s poisoning ocean wildlife is uncollected litter and ocean dumping by poorer coastal countries that lack developed waste management systems. But facts won’t stop virtue signaling activists from calling for a ban on yet another item in their never ending quest to show how environmentally conscious they are - while ignoring 99.98% of the actual problem. Libs are going to be disappointed by this news North Korea begins dismantling structures and facilities around a launch site used to test its long-range ballistic missile programme, according to new commercial satellite imagery. Perhaps there was something to that Trump/Kim Jong Un summit after all. Perhaps. [Hidden Content]

This is one of the many examples of title 9 abuses. The defendants have no rights and no way to prove their innocence. It’s Obama’s fault that it has gotten worse by the way. The latest case to garner significant attention, though, is in some ways the weirdest of them all. It involves USC football kicker Matt Boermeester, who has been the subject of a Title IX investigation as a result of allegations he assaulted his girlfriend, USC tennis player Zoe Katz. A Los Angeles Times report by Zach Helfand from last week, drawing heavily on a statement Katz’s attorney sent the paper, explains what happened: It started in February, when a neighbor saw Boermeester shove Katz during what Katz has said was playful roughhousing between the two athletes. “The neighbor told his roommate, who told a coach in USC’s athletic department that Boermeester was abusing Katz,” writes Helfand. “The coach then reported the incident to the Title IX office.” At that point, the bureaucracy kicked in and things got weird, according to Katz: USC and its athletic department decided to ignore Katz’s assurance that she was not, in fact, a victim, and Boermeester “was suspended from USC, then barred from campus and from meeting with USC’s athletic trainers or members of the football team,” or with Katz herself. The article quoted is his testimony from a Senate Intelligence Committee Hearing. He was testifying under oath with the threat of perjury. Why would someone make a story like that up and risk prison time?

Why would Obama give a stand down order? Former Obama administration National Security Council cybersecurity coordinator Michael Daniel confirmed on Wednesday that a "stand down" order was given to counter Russian cyberattacks during the 2016 election. During a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, Sen. James Risch, R-Idaho, asked Daniel about a passage in the book Russian Roluette. The passage was about a staffer from Daniel's team, Daniel Prieto, retelling the time that Obama's national security adviser Susan Rice told Daniel and his team to halt their efforts and to "stand down" in countering Russia's cyberattacks. Daniel was quoted saying to his team that they had to stop working on options to counter the Russian attack: "We've been told to stand down." Prieto is quoted as being "incredulous and in disbelief" and asking, "Why the hell are we standing down?" [Hidden Content]

Copied. Seems to make sense My advisors have recommended that I not write about this controversy but I owe you. I write as a military veteran and political scientist who has traveled to Ukraine, the Middle East, Helsinki, USSR to study up close. Fact 1. The world's two greatest nuclear powers should be friendly. That is in the interest of the world! Fact 2. Tonight the greatest criticisms come from two major groups: A. Those who hate Trump and who will criticize the President for anything he does. B. Those few in the military and intelligence communities who are wholly bought and owned by the war industries, for it is in their financial interests to have the US and Russia armed to the teeth and at each other's throats. As you listen to the shrill screamers, note how often they come from this corner (politicians included)! Fact 3. The absolute truth is that the Obama administration interfered in the Ukraine elections which led to Russia's predictable takeover of the area which holds Russia's major naval base and sea outlet. Fact 4. The Obama administration interfered in the election of Israel. Strong Nations do this when they feel that it is their interests to do so. Fact 5. The alleged Russian interference occurred during the Obama administration, and we heard not a peep. Now these jerks want Trump to punch Putin in the nose and start a nuclear war with the other major nuclear force on Earth. I'm a patriot and a believer in a powerful America. I have also witnessed the body bags filled with the fruit of American youth when fat old saber rattlers play soldier. Trump was masterful in Helsinki. The Swamp Donkeys may scream but tonight the world is better off that these two men shook hands!
