I did some work for the govt a few years ago repairing and rebuilding homes after hurricanes. We had some jobs in NYC. They required us to use Union carpenters that were approved and paying dues to them. A guy charged me $1200 to hang 2 interior doors. It would take me longer to get my tools out of my truck and set up than to actually hang the doors. I could have flown there, bought a compressor and saw, hung the doors myself, and flown back for cheaper. $1200 for a job that anyone that's halfway handy can do in 10 minutes.

FBI was still treating it as an open case that wasn't being pushed. A normal file transfer doesn't usually require the US Marshal's office. McCabe has been dragging his feet way too much. DoJ just took it over and have it in a quarantine secure location, and the DoJ is moving forward with it, and are expanding it to the Foundation. He had the right to protest and the owners have every right not to hire him. Go try to protest while on the clock at your job which cost your company's tens of millions of dollars and let me know how that works out for you.

I have a friend that works at one of the big local refineries that gets tax breaks for having certain numbers of minorities. One of their last big hirings he was ordered to go in a separate room and make sure this group passed the test. He asked what they meant and was told "these people need to pass the test." He basically did the test open book with class room discussion to make sure his separate group of chosen minorities passed. Whitey was left in the public room taking the test by themselves with 1000's of others. I dont know about y'all, but if I'm working at a job where 1 mistake could kill or injure many people, I want the best, most qualified people working along side me regardless of skin color. I don't care to put my life in the hands of people that need special favors in order to get jobs they aren't qualified for.

Name a country in the world where black people have more prosperity than they do in the USA. Name a country in world history where both the conditions are met.

Prior to the Civil War there was no income tax. Govt was funded by tariffs which the South paid a great proportion. When the Manufacturing North passed the Morrill Tariff and increases the tax rate from 15% to 37% then 47%, the South said see you later. Lincoln realized he couldn't fund the govt without the Tariff revenue that the South accounted for 87% of. Boom Civil War..... Thats the Cliff's notes version. The Civil War was fought over money, not slavery.

Read up on the Morrill Tariff. That had more to do with the start of the war than slavery.

Old Westend1 was actually pretty intelligent and could debate actual issues from another point of view. I wish he would come back to the forum, because it's nice to have different view points voicing their opinions. We could all learn a little from each other with constructive dialogue. This post confused the hell out of me though.
