It will have to happen right when the regular season is over. With Charlie's wait and see recruiting, Texas is currently ranked 59th in the country with only 7 commits(Carson supposedly wont qualify so really only 6.) If they wait until after the bowl games, the new staff will have to make up a ton of ground in less than a month. The new coach would be behind before he even started.

Not sure about records but they both put on a show. Long threw for 7 Td's and Kliff had 5. Long got screwed at A&M. He was a great passer, but the coaching staff caved to the pressure to play the young 5 star QB Reggie McNeal and benched Long. He put up great numbers when he was given a chance. [Hidden Content]

That is the key here. I'm not sure why they need to put on some big production every time they are looking to make a hire. I guess they want to give me something to tell my grandkids about, but they end up with egg on their face more times than not. It seems like they scare some good candidates off because they can't keep things quite.
