And actually i like Silsbee's chances to beat Carthage this year and here is why: coach smith has brought in an awesome defensive coordinator, which has been a weak spot for silsbee in the past. He made great strides on the defensive side last year and I'm sure silsbee faithful will see an even better defensive squad this year. On the other side of the ball, sometimes the best defensive plan is to keep their offense off the field, which I believe Adonis Thomas will do.. you won't see the explosive long td runs like you saw last year with Tyler, but what you will see is a very strong running back who can pick up 4-6 yards a carry, picking up first downs and keeping the chains and clock moving. So a better defense, with a clock running offense might be the answer to beat a tough Carthage team who has put silsbee out of the playoffs so many times.

Correct, barely squeaked by silsbee in a game that silsbee should have won. if silsbee gets the first or second spot then they won't have to worry about Carthage in first round so they should be fine..

So the superintendent lied to the media, but told the truth to the police.. why does everyone have a problem with that?? In my opinion he was probably trying to protect Reeves reputation because he knows how the media can be.

Well I'm sure last year could have just been a really down season. Usually when a team such as Dayton with so much success has a really bad year they tend to bounce back eventually.

If your varsity team couldn't be successful, what makes you think that JV players are going to come up at the varsity level and make that big of a difference?

I along with others have been criticized for claiming Beaumont schools have had a lack of discipline in the past. but I meant it in an honest way when I said it. If he keeps that up, and you add discipline with the talent level y'all have, then that is a scary thing for our district to face.

Not sure how much the new coach can instill in his first year... but if he keeps workin at it they will be good for years to come!

From being in the stands many games last year in silsbee, I can tell you that majority of fans did not embrace the I-Formation run first offense that was implemented, so I don't see this going over very well.

I think you can throw history out the door in this one. Im going with silsbee 2-0
