  1. People are jealous of silsbee so they "poke the tiger" and pick fights with them?? so why isn't WOS getting into fights every game they play? I'd be more jealous of them than silsbee,m. That logic doesn't really make sense.
  2. Don't say that because then you'll be the one considered racist!
  3. SMH... why use a Bible verse to justify their cause in a situation like this....
  4. Your right. But there are some people who will label the whole based upon the shortcomings of the few. The culture of a school athletic program should reflect the culture of that town. And towns can get a bad rep because of poor athletic behavior. (And I'm not really meaning success, I'm talking more about behavior) So yes I agree with you that none of these things reflect directly on AAW, however as a citizen of silsbee you should take pride in how your players conduct themselves and take it personal if they aren't acting right.
  5. I actually respect him for not pointing out other programs who have the same issue. That's the problem nowadays is everyone wants to point the finger at other people (programs in the instance) instead of looking in the mirror. AAW's concern in this matter is silsbee, because silsbee reflects on him. Which is a pretty mature choice in my opinion compared to the opposite which is blaming everybody else.
  6. Bring some of that WOS football talent with you!!
  7. Why can't all silsbee fans see this? Those kids need to go out and let their talent talk, not their mouths/fists!
  8. Jacob Collins will be qb, he's left handed. and I'm sure Adonis will be doing the bulk of the running.
  9. Silsbee got beat by orangefield last night and you have them at 2-0 in district. Just letting you know
  10. I think it's what you make of it. I've seen plenty of people come through public schools who still aren't prepared socially or mentally lol and I know some very good smart kids who are currently being homeschooled. Depends on the parents and the student in both situations
  11. Lol trust me I don't know enough about politics to step foot in that forum, although I do read it pretty often!
  12. That is an excellent question! I guess it's kinda like the government issues we are having, why am I having work my butt off to pay for someone to get a free ride?
  13. No not at all. I was actually trying to follow your logic and say that if you believe Neumann wasn't as successful as he should have been then that's why Barrow shouldn't be considered qualified for the position. If we compare the two, then yes Hooks obviously was much more successful. But, in your opinion, does that mean Neumann wasn't? That's what I guess I was tryaiming to get at. If you don't believe Neumann did enough with what he had, then I can see why you are taking the stance that you are.
  14. So are you saying Neumann hasn't been successful enough for his assistant to be worthy of the position? If so, then I can see why you would say that and why you think the way you do.
  15. In high school if I was failing a class I was forced by my coach to show up to tutorials before school until I brought my grades up. If a homeschooler is falling behind or failing how does the coach hold him accountable? Is it fair one gets punished because your in the school system while the other doesn't because he's not? Also, if we were caught goofing off in school or got in trouble, guess what happened during athletics period? They ran our butts the whole time. And I've seen people have to sit out a game due to discipline issues. Once again an area where homeschoolers can't be held accountable. Our athletics people was right before lunch which meant we worked out during school, ate lunch, went and sat in 3 hours worth of classes the hit the practice field immediately after school. If allowed to come to athletics, homeschooler would get to come, go home and relax in the comfort of their own home/room, probably take a nap, then come back for practice. in my opinion , it wouldn't be fair to the student athletes who work their butts off, sit in class all day, and are held to a higher standard while at school because they know if they slip up the coach WILL find out. Allowing homeschoolers to play school sports is like allowing people without jobs to be able to live off government money just because they are a citizen of this country. You wanna be a part of our team? You earn it by coming to our schools with the rest of our team and working your butt off in the classroom and on the field.
  16. Both know the system and what works with the talent that they have due to being long time assistants. Both inherit a successful football program (obviously wos more successful), so all that Barrow needs to do from this point on is continue what Neumann has put in to place. I'm sure he'll keep the same Coaching staff for the most part, of course he'll have to replace himself eventually but that can come in time. So basically he has all the pieces and tools to continue to build the program up, now y'all just need to see what he can do with it. Nederland is not that talent rich, but Neumann was very good at utilizing the talent he did have and being competitive. Just hope that Barrow learned that from him.
  17. Coach Thompson seemed to make the transfer pretty well... give this guy a chance!
  18. Where does silsbee get all the basketball players from?!?
  19. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that way... guy can't get over something and always blamin the other person.. sound familiar? Regardless, congrats to the silsbee team and community from across village creek.
  20. Who cares what's said on social media. The more adults feed into it, the more the kids will.
  21. I agree with you on the comments part. But I've also seen some pleasant comments coming from silsbee people too. On several different posts that people have shared. Seems like adults on both sides are acting out.
