  1. Are we really starting to shift blame from the player who cheap shot someone to the adult who posted the video? and as someone else already stated, an apology on twitter?!? Seriously? That's like breaking up over text message! If posting the video on Facebook is seen as unacceptable to y'all, then posting a apology on twitter should be as well.
  2. I agree! kinda weird to see this coming from a tiger fan!
  3. The bigger picture is that gang violence/ black on black crime has taken more lives than racial profiling has. Look up the statistics. we are teaching our kids that protesting authority is the route to take. Police are in place to protect and serve (and yes there are some crooked cops), and the reason they patrol certain places more heavily is because of the honest truth that numbers don't lie. And the numbers show where there is more crime at. so now we teach kids that police are the bad guys. Police shoots white person and nothing gets said, police shoots black person and the whole world is turned upside down. So, we teach kids (particularly young black kids) to hate cops, and guess who else hates cops? That's right, gangs! So where do these young kids fit in at? Once again, gangs! And now we have this vicious never ending cycle of gang activity (white, black, and Mexican gangs) that will never end until we finally realize that the problem isn't the government. The problem is the groups of people that are fueled by hate, who recruits others, who are fueled by more hate. the problem with America during the civil war was not blacks/slaves. It was the racist white poeple who hated them. It was the groups like the KKK who were the problem. Gang violence is the problem today. It's almost like we are playing a game of "every color for themselves" and placing the game on the government and the police. I'm not a huge fan of our government here lately, but WE created this problem. And until we address the true problem, then there always will be a problem. Racism goes both ways. Blacks complain about being racially profiled and looked down on by white people. But it's the same way the other way around too. I've gone to many central vs ozen games in football and basketball, and I can't even count the number of rude looks I got from people, just for the simple fact that I'm white. And I've seen black people walk into the stands at a Lumberton game and sadly get the same looks. My point is, there's racists on both sides. And until we label THAT as the problem, then the problem will always exist. now I'm off my soap box hopefully I offended nobody!
  4. For sure.. wos would have been a much better game to watch then wos vs sweetwater, that's for sure!
  5. I'd bet my life savings that Carthage would not have beat wos at any point of the year! Which isn't a lot of money, but I'd bet it any way!
  6. He wouldn't have to do the same thing in Tomball due to "administrative support" Of course he's in the spotlight for this, but I would be interested to see just how many time he brought this issue up to the higher ups with nothing being done. The man was put in that situation to make a tough decision. Soulja, you used a term earlier, "selective comprehension", which I think we are ALL guilty of at times... including me... including you... Maybe we are wrong for our opinions on this situation, then again, maybe you are wrong.
  7. And I'm willing to bet that losing a close game that they should have won to a team that would go on to win state still has not shut them up. I hope, for his sake, that he can make good things happen this year.... but that's for another forum
  8. I'm sure it has. Seems like this may have been a little extreme though to call for these measures.. idk, only the people involved know the real truth.
  9. I would like to have an answer to his question as well Soulja. Not to prove anyone right or wrong, just out of curiosity. the fact remains that he didn't break the law, but did he violate the rules of the district?
  10. When will the decision be made if he made it?
  11. I'm sure that athlete didn't transfer in for the facilities, it probably had more to do with the big name coach y'all have now. which, if true, would kinda prove WOSGrad point. They chose Babers Hill because they felt coach westerberg has a good chance at success in the future.. and rightly so.
  12. They will be starters in 2018 so it's relevant.
  13. I guarantee you it's only fans that complain about this. The players love to travel, they like being in the best stadium in the state, and the longer the drive the more school you get to miss (that in itself is worth the drive to them) and as far as the short week goes, both teams have the same short week. So there is no advantage to either team.
  14. 3,000 less this year than last year 6A D2... pretty obvious as to why though.
  15. He's got some legs on him! Very good on kickoffs, he may have a future in that if he keeps working at it.
  16. That's what I've heard... sure would be nice to have been watching them play today. And newton yesterday.
  17. Time of games needs to be considered. wos (D2) played the second game on Friday last year. if you look at the 4A division 1 game for last year the attendance was only 7900, but that was a noon game. Of course a game at 4 this year will double if not triple that from last year.
  18. What's crazy is wos destroyed silsbee who only lost to Carthage by 4, and some say that wos couldn't compete in division 1...
  19. The great defense with another shut out! If not for the momentum killing fumble on the first drive, this game would have gotten ugly real fast.
