  1. That’s the way the boys need to be coming out Friday night. No point in laying over and giving up. Lumberton is not the only team in this area that would be a huge underdog to Carthage. I’m pretty sure most teams in SETX, besides a select few maybe, wouldn’t have much of a chance. I haven’t kept up with Carthage this year but I’m sure they are the same Championship caliber team that they have been for the last decade. We get to play them at home, second round of the playoffs. It’s gonna be an awesome experience for the guys, especially seniors, win or lose.
  2. After reading this thread, I’m just glad I don’t work for UIL.. good luck to them trying to figure it out 😂
  3. Good question. I bet it would confuse the heck out of people if we were visitors
  4. I won’t make it, just realized that I’ll be leaving for San Antonio Friday so I wasn’t gonna be able to watch a game that day anyway.
  5. I was doing the same, Thursday our game Friday Silsbee game.
  6. So apparently the game got changed to Friday Night at 7 pm, in Lumberton.
  7. Well I didn’t consider any of that so I stand corrected. Still, I think it’s sad not only for the players but also for the community/parents as well. Everyone should have the privilege of Friday Night Lights, “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of HS football” lol
  8. The lack of community support is what gets me. I witnessed it last night watching Barbers Hill play as well, the other team had 18 fans at kickoff. Just sad.
  9. They are here, saw them warming up earlier.. only about 15 fans though. So sad!
  10. 😂😂😂... crap I better inform my wife of my secret partner...
  11. Tonight- Lumberton Friday- Barbers Hill
  12. Well I don’t have to worry about being in the press box so it’s all good lol
  13. Hopefully we play Carthage at Abe Martin in Lufkin.. very nice stadium!
  14. By your argument, where do you draw the line then? Why not have 6 teams, or 8. Or we could just say everyone makes the playoffs. That would make the UIL even more money. The reason we “get excited” for playoff times as you stated in your last sentence is because it’s a special time where the teams who earned it get to keep playing. The more you let in, the less special it becomes, the less exciting it gets.
