2 of those 3 teams beat Huffman last year, so I would say all are capable. Will it happens who knows, but possible yes

That’s me. And we held a Silsbee team in check running wise for pretty much the whole game, a Silsbee team with arguably one of the better overall backfields in 4A. Lots of talent. But you’re right, pass defense never has been the best and Huffman will be a good test... so we’ll see

Hopefully we can move the ball and control the TOP. I’ve been impressed with our defense so we should be fine there, even better if we can keep them off the field. Silsbee was a good test last week with a pretty good defense up front, we will be prepared.

Good point. At some point we will quit overreacting to Silsbee losing the first few games. It’s been the same story every year. Silsbee gets beat early but is better for it. But i also expect at some point for Silsbee to get over the hump and start winning those first games as well.

I think people are slightly overreacting to the vidor win over Crosby. Vidor isn’t great, but I did watch them scrimmage Silsbee.. they aren’t really that bad either. They had a pretty decent passing “game” that day. And their defense pretty much held Silsbee in check for the most part (from what I remember)... with that said, I would take Crosby over Dayton easily.

So I have a question out of curiosity because I’m completely ignorant of both teams this year except their 4-0 record.. why are people picking United to win or even a close game? It it because United is that much better than last year, or WB taking a step back? Thanks in advance for any input

Babin has taken an irreverent football team to a team that cant be overlooked by a top 5 4A division 2 team. That’s called progress, which I’ll accept. Not complacency. We can build upon that, but I think your expectations may be a little unreachable at this point. Maybe in a few years, but not yet. Give the man some time and quit publicly questioning his decision making.

I don’t need a better source, because I’ve got the best source for Lumberton High School football information that there currently is. So I don’t need you to tell me that I’m right to know that I’m right, so by you telling me I’m misinformed doesn’t bother me either. We’ll just agree to disagree. Btw, good job coming on here and giving a teenage kid a reason to resent his coach’s decision making, that’s what a true fan should do I suppose. Also, Barthol was hurt in the first half Friday night. A deep bone bruise to his ribs, he may be back next week. So that’s why Boykin came in at qb. That obviously wasn’t the plan all along.
