The young qb for Silsbee did very well considering his first pass was intercepted, and the next 2 could have been. He kept his head up though and made some good throws at the end. That was a beautiful td he threw in the corner of the end zone.

The handshake is one thing. Yeah it’s good sportsmanship but it’s a lot different than when somebody is hurt. Worst part is parents and fans in the stands were cheering the first time #6 went down. Like they were happy about it. My point is, we can point our fingers at the players all day, but it starts at home in our own household. After that, the coaching staff needs to step up and do their part as well.

I’m good with going to the sidelines, but once you get there you’ve gotta take a knee.

Yes, and the 4A Divison 1 state champs only beat them by 4. In a game that many will tell you Silsbee could have won. I wasn’t there though.

Funny you say that, because i do believe that same year Carthage couldn’t win district either. And they ended up winning state.

Not sure what year it was, maybe 2015, but when Dontre Thomas was yalls qb. I remember that was my first state championship game to go to, and I remember telling my Father in law that y’all could have beaten either team playing that day. I wanna say it was Waco la Vega and somebody else.

Basically by putting it that way I’m saying that you can’t take anything away from what Silsbee is doing this year. Because you play who you play, and you still gotta go out there and win the games. There’s plenty of teams who drop down (Lumberton for example) and it doesn’t always automatically translate into deep playoff runs.

The only reason i would say dropping down has helped them is because there is no Carthage. Honestly if you take Carthage out of this region then Silsbee would have probably done the same thing in Division 1.

You missed my point stat. You can’t say Cuero isn’t as good as anybody Silsbee has played IF they wind up beating Silsbee. That’s all I was saying.
