If this was 6 weeks ago i would agree with everything you said. Back then Silsbee relied on big plays to score and couldn’t sustain drives. since then, passing game has improved some. I still see mostly fade routes and deep balls. But the difference is the running backs are sustaining drives and keeping the chains moving, along with the big play scores here and there. Might need to tell your Giddings buddies to get some updated game film. Also, comparing scores against Liberty, i wouldn’t be so confident if i was them.

Texan drive in porter.

Nah, unless Raider24 knows something that Coach doesn’t know yet lol

Huh?

You made a good point about getting workouts in before or after school, and that parents should encourage their kids to get conditioned at an early age. That’s whats missing in Lumberton. I guarantee that Babin has those boys inspired to put in the extra work during their own time. That’s how it was when i was in school, we were pretty much expected to participate in track or powerlifting practices after school. Problem is, while the PNG and Nederland and wos and newton etc kids are doing this at a young age, Lumberton kids don’t start till high school. It’s a town culture problem. Our boys are already a step behind most other schools by the time they are freshmen because they grew up playing video games all day.

Wow, I’m speechless lol

Umm, plenty of speed on Silsbee!

Is Hunt for sure out?

The players play the game. Every play is designed to get a first down or td. If you don’t think that a grown man with mouths to feed at home is not doing his best to put his team in a position to win then your mistaken.

High School Football during Thanksgiving Break
L-Train11 replied to LTFALCON's topic in High School Football
That’s probably the reason Carthage is the defending champs, and are a powerhouse year in and year out. But also Huffman probably just doesn’t have a lot of football support. Lumberton stands were pretty full Friday and we weren’t the defending champs. And that was an afternoon game too. It just varies by community -
Oh no I know what you meant. But Goins was the guy I was talking about, he was good. Probably one of the best leaders on our team imo. But yeah freshmen year we lost a whole lot of talent. For some reason Lumberton kids only want to focus on one sport.
-
We were undersized on the line. Our best lineman was probably 180, and he played with a lot of heart.

Ryan Hughes. Back in 2008 thru 2010

Maybe so. It’s not wise to bet against Coch T that’s for sure!

We had a good qb my senior year who was a three year starter. Strong arm, accurate, and he liked running people over as well. Good qbs like that don’t come around every year in Lumberton. Teams like PNG and Nederland seem to always have a good qb.
-
Good question. Probably wos side because honestly I’m pulling for them. I’ve enjoyed watching them the last 3 years in the state championship game and would love to see them make it 5 years in a row. But my gut feeling is telling me jasper will win again. Seems like it’s their year
-
It’s gonna be an exciting game. Me and my brother plan on going.
-
I think I’ve got Jasper winning in a close one. I’m not sure how bad wos will miss their qb if he is out. Even with him they didn’t score until the fourth quarter Friday night.
-
Thank you. You’re last statement is spot on. I know this to be true becuase when we had Yarbo a few years back we threw the ball more. Bridges would have been a better passing threat this year had he not been injured.

Anything official yet?

Going and speaking with coach Babin would make too much sense. Don’t you know it’s a lot easier to bash a coach and his character on a website? Cowards
-
Wow, so you do realize it probably would have taken less time to go up to the school and talk to Babin face to face than it did to create an account just to come on here and blast him. Arrogant? Get out of here with that crap! I’ve seen at least 3 or 4 times over the past few years him change up his offensive formations and schemes based upon personnel and injuries. Including Friday. Speaking of Friday, were you there? Did you not see the HUGE size advantage that they had on us? What about the difference in athletic ability and speed? Man I love the Raiders but I knew from the moment we set foot on the field that we didn’t have a chance becuase of how outmanned we were. That’s why we lost. Call it coaching if you want, I guess that’s a lot easier to blame an adult instead of speaking the truth. Their whole defensive line and linebackers were about as big if not bigger than our biggest player that we have (#23). Yeah let that sink in. But of course you won’t acknowledge that fact in your expert analysis. Heres the bottom line truth: our players were nowhere near as good or big or fast as Henderson players. In 50 years of playing football, we have literally had two coaches who made us competitive- Coach’s credeuer and coach Babin. Every single other coach was below average, mediocre at best. But here we are complaining about going 6-6 as opposed to 2-8.. Lumberton people are ridiculous. Did you expect a state championship?

Out of likes.

It just feels like Shug was destined to play in a state championship game. It may or may not happen, but he and the team deserve it. Now go out there and earn it!! I’m pulling for PNG!

If jasper wins the toss it will be in Lumberton
