  1. Lol didn’t mean that in a bad way, just saying blowouts are boring. No matter what side of the beating you are on.
  2. A good game is all we can ask for. After two weeks of blowing teams out I’m ready for some good action!
  3. I think he is which makes his posts even more ridiculous. I’ve never seen anybody trash their own football team so much whenever they are in place to win an outright district championship for the first time ever. Do i need to remind people that we are talking about Lumberton here. The same Lumberton that has won a tri district championship, and bi district championship, and been to the playoffs as a fourth seed. Other than that we’ve been irrelevant throughout our 50 years of football. And here we are in this position and people still find stuff to gripe about. We held Jasper to less points than wos did (yeah let that hit you. Our defense did better than wos did). We lost to a pretty good Concordia team who also beat Huffman as well. So they aren’t no slouch. And we were about 3 blown coverages away from making it a very close and interesting game with a Silsbee team that only allowed 21 points to Nederland two weeks before. The same Nederland team who is still undefeated to this point. I’d say, all things considered (and remember it’s Lumberton we’re talking about), we’re having a pretty dang good year. And I’m looking forward to the next several years.
  4. I know you’re referring to me so I’ll say this: just like you get tired of seeing our optimism, your hatred towards the team and coaching staff is getting old as well. I don’t accept average either, but guess what- you gotta be realistic too!! Takes time to build a winning culture and that’s exactly what Babin is trying to do (or is doing rather), and it’s negative people like you who will stunt that growth. Are we more competitive now than in years past? Well heck yeah, that’s called improvement. Accept it and expect better next year. For now, be happy we’re moving in the right direction.
  5. You are absolutely correct, BUT those excuses are being made in the past tense. Nobody on here has said we may not beat splendora because we have a backup qb in.. at this point, he’s no longer the backup. He’s now the starter
  6. One pony has been beating a lot of teams the last three years...
  7. Lol I guess that’s why we don’t work for the Newspaper company. I’d be fired pretty quick!
  8. Lumberton wins the biggest game in the history of their program despite going into the game being the biggest underdog they have been since playing defending state champs Lamarque in 2007!
  9. I wouldn’t even worry about it Grad!
  10. Lol I did pick Crosby! Any PNG fan who made their picks using an iPad should be automatically disqualified
  11. PNG crushes the snitches, however, they are forced to once again forfeit a victory after an assistant was spotted writing secret notes and flying them down to the sideline in the form of a paper airplane. This being their second infraction, PNG will now be punished by having to run Vidor’s offense during MCM and will have to draw up the plays in the dirt. Stone tablets will also be allowed.
  12. Cheaters and tattle tales. Two things nobody wants to be labeled.
  13. Yeah just don’t go away for twenty minutes though or you’ll have 3 pages to catch up on.
  14. A linebacker playing quarterback that is soft.... you’re making perfect sense...
  15. Qb is a pretty good runner. And btw, he isn’t brought up from jv. He’s been on varsity all year starting at DB before our starting qb got hurt. Our starting running back on ran a few times against BC becuase why run him whenever the team your playing sucks? As far as our qb’s throwing, we are no doubt a run first team. And the last couple weeks that’s all we had to do to win easily. So I guess we will see this week how much he has developed.
  16. Our run defense reminds me a lot of this year.. I wish we had the same caliber of offense that we had back then!
  17. This thread reminds me of 2015 when Lumberton played Vidor. Vidor had scored 30 points on a really good Nederland team and barely lost by 6. They put up 83 points on Baytown Lee (the equivalent of Livingston this year). Vidor was probably averaging close to 400-500 yards rushing a game. If my memory is correct, they had one first down in the first half against us. And we held them to 13 points in the game. I don’t really make a habit of bringing up previous years because they don’t affect the here and now, but my point is running teams don’t scare Lumberton, just like big Mott shut down the run in 2015, Mason along with Hooks and company will continue to stuff the run. I’ve got a TON of respect for the Silsbee running backs, but ask any Silsbee fan on here how much they ran the ball on Lumberton.. not much! Does Splendora have better backs than Martin, Taylor, or Arline? If your gonna beat us it will be through the air (once again ask Soulja how Silsbee pulled off the win this year). Btw, our pass defense has improved tremendously. Our starting running back is back. And our young qb has 2 more games under his belt than he did against Huffman. So we’ll be alright on offense. I’ll end with this: if I’m wrong, if Splendora runs all over us on their way to a victory and an outright DC, I’ll be the first one on here eating crow. And I’ll do my best internet handshake and congratulations. Until then, I’m pretty confident in our run defense!
  18. We all know Crosby would have had iPads in the coaches booth too but they had to sell theirs to pay off some debt.
  19. Two ways to looks at that. That game was a one score game until four minutes left. So yeah their defense played better against Huffman than ours did, but we scored almost double the points. So basically if you wanna use common opponents the only opinion you can draw from that game is Splendora defense is better and Lumberton offense is better.
