See my post right above yours, we seem to have the same thinking on the culture of Lumberton. Not something I’m proud of, but something I can see changing as long as we hang on to who we got.

Let’s just be real guys, PNG has had one bad half this whole year where they struggled with a team, other than that they have walked through district without breaking a sweat.. same thing I said last week about Central, not a knock on Nederland, PNG is just on a whole other level compared to the rest of the district this year.

Great post!! I think it all boils down to the fact that a coach needs longevity at a school district before he can truly be successful, which means the community has to be patient and trust him. That “IT” factor that you mentioned doesn’t start in high school, it’s gotta start in Pee Wee, and should be instilled int their brains by middle school. Thats what I love about Babin, he is trying to change the culture of the town into a winners mentality.

Doesn’t sound like coaching was an issue either since Brenham was a state finalist that year, they were just a better team.

Hoping to not only see a wos win, but also a hopefully much improved wos team from previous weeks. Cut down on mistakes and they will be alright

And at some point PNg will have to start recruiting players in order to make a deeper playoff run... when will people realize that we are not in a talent rich area. Maybe the reason PNG hasn’t lived up to your standards is because of the players just not matching up, and maybe just maybe it’s not the coaches fault. Heck look at PAM, who everyone would agree has the best talent in this area, and yet they still won’t be a match for some of those other schools come playoff time. It would take combining PNG’s offense and PAM’s defense to actually make it to Jerry’s World. That’s not the coaches fault, it’s the area we live in. It is what it is.

Lord knows Lumberton ain’t got that kind of money!! Lol

Crazy scenarios!

Considering it’s been about 6 weeks or so since we got shut out by y’all, our local wal mart has had time to restock since then. Lol

At least Nederland fans don’t usually come up with many excuses.

I’m not much on moral victories, but if we could finish the season off with a win this week, give the seniors something to remember in their last game and give the younger guys something to be proud of going into offseason, that would be great! Couple that with the possibility of us moving down to 4A next year, I think that would be a big confidence boost going into next year knowing that we beat a pretty good Nederland team. Raider24, it’s been fun watching Josh truck people all year. Sure hope he can get a full game in this week. He’s got nothing to hang his head about, that kid played with a lot of heart every down!

Eventually people will realize this and quit saying that they chose to be in 5A
