We were taught either hit the man with the ball or anybody else in your way, not hit the qb seven yards behind the play when he's clearly out of the picture.....
You called it wrong, all while trying your best to justify it. Two huge differences. Wrong is wrong. End of story. Young man made a mistake, now he needs to focus on not letting something like that happen again.
I would be willing to bet that he does. Don't forget that silsbee suspended an all American in basketball last year. It's been done before on a much bigger scale.
I've only seen one video that ended about a second after the hit. But I trust your judgement. I'm sure coaches are watching the film and evaluating the situation.
That was just a big hit in which the player was fired up after. In the heat of the moment I could see where the ref could have thrown a flag, and I can also understand why he didn't too.
both players should be reprimanded, and as Silsbee92 stated, we'll see which coach makes the right decision. Hopefully both will.
