  1. There was another hit on the qb that the flag got thrown on. Might be the one your thinking of, and your correct he was running the ball just stepped out of bounds before he got hammered. But I think T-daddy was talking about the one later in the game. Jasper qb left the game after hat hit.
  2. I don't think he was running the ball. I think it was a sweep and he was carrying out the fake bootleg. I did not see him get hit so I can't do whether it was a cheap shot or not
  3. I was one of the ones saying he wasn't dual threat, and after last night I'll man up and say I was wrong. Now, I do believe the dogs were keying in on Adonis and to my knowledge silsbee has not shown that zone read this year yet, so it took jasper completely off guard. Which helped Collins have some success running. Be expecting other teams to plan for that now. Nonetheless, he did a great job running the ball last night.
  4. Was looking that way in the first half lol silsbee came out and put it on them though!
  5. Good job for silsbee coming out looking like a different team. Jasper pretty much laid down and silsbee kept the foot on the pedal. IMO I don't see how Crosby almost lost to Jasper!
  6. Correct which is smart. If he drops it it's incomplete instead of a fumble.
  7. A little sense of "normalcy" back in vidor today.. that's great to hear!
  8. Can we just worry about getting past RJ for now?? Lol
  9. Your right. Mind went blank there... with all the crow eating that Crosby has been doing all week for some reason my mind said jasper won lol moral victory I guess.
  10. Where have you been hiding at?? lol haven't seen you on here in a while!
  11. One jasper win and one silsbee loss and everybody on here is saying Jasper is gonna blow silsbee out.. I'm not gonna sit here and say for sure that silsbee will win, but I don't think it's gonna be a blowout by no means!
  12. Don't forget y'all barely squeaked by Lumberton the last two years.... just had to throw that jab in there Jag Insider! Lol
  13. Your dislike for Lumberton is hilarious... not even a PNG fan but you have consistently stayed on this thread reassuring us that we will get blown out. We get it , your point is made. Good luck to whoever your team is.
  14. Congratulations to Josh's Ward for earning the Vype player of the week! He will impress a lot of people this year
  15. Exactly. Just all depends on how much time the offensive line gives him.
  16. I hope your right about him not running as much. Aside from this game I'm rooting for him to do great things and make a deep run this year, but the poor kid seemed like he was run half to death last year against Barbers Hill! I know it was due to injuries but still.
  17. I'm curious as to why you sound so certain.. Have you seen both teams this year?
  18. Didn't most teams struggle last week?
  19. A lot of people will argue that it "public knowledge" and "I send my kids to that school so I deserve to know" You spend money at the grocery store but aren't entitled to know what the managers salary is, you insure your car and house and boat and anything else you have but that doesn't mean you should know your agents salary. The list could go on and on. I agree, although these salaries are public knowledge that doesn't mean they need to be thrown out everywhere.
  20. Ok I'll do my best to get some conversation started: Here's my honest, non homer, opinion. The key to beating PNG will be to put pressure on RJ and contain RJ. While that is the key to winning, it's much easier said than done. You've got to attack him. If you allow him to get comfortable in the pocket then he will beat you with his arm and he has plenty of targets, or he will tuck the ball and run and not be touched for the first 8 yards at least. If we can pressure and contain then we have a chance of slowing the offense down.. once again, easier said than done. On our end, this will be one of the more balanced offenses you've seen from Lumberton. We have two BIG threats at TE and WR (brothers) who have good size and hard to bring down. Our qb showed his speed and quickness against HF which I had not seen until then because I only watched one scrimmage and qbs are protected in those. He doesn't mind running the ball, and he is a pretty accurate passer as well. The thing we will lean on though as always in Lumberton is our running game. No doubt that Ward is a beast, and we have a great backup in Conway who will only get better with varsity experience. Ward is good, but the extra boost in the passing game will only open things up and make things a little easier. Oh, and very good size in the o line. Defenseively, HFs stud rb busted some big runs on us last week. It seemed like we would stop him on a few plays, then out of nowhere he would bust a big one on us. I'm hoping that was just due to a lack of game planning although I'm not trying to make excuses. Either way we have to get better.
  21. Only good thing about it is we have the chance to watch multiple games a week, if you like to go watch other area teams play on Friday night.
  22. I was thinking the same thing when I read the article. On top of the length of tenure, I think they should definitely consider success rate. And naturally the coach of the bigger school should make more (considering he is winning games of course)
