Greatly hope ya'll pass the stadium bond, otherwise, you might want to ask what good swimmers you have available coming up to put on the football field (aka water/mud slosh pit). Prayers for your stadium bond improvements.

Should be a very exciting season if our offensive line stays healthy. Bost can chunk that football, and he is extremely quick.

Need to go get a small school coach that is ready to move up & play in a tough district. I have announced starters for PNG Basketball for 24 years & we need to go out of the area & hunt down a new coach with a new philosophy. I have to admit, I will miss Pat Abel on the sideline for PNG. That man loved & cared about the sport, & all of the kids he coached.

Agreed there are many reasons for "Yes" & "No" votes based on age, lifestyle, kids, home value etc... Thank God we live in a country where regardless of the uneducated, or educated decision of how you will choose to vote, on this local level issue, it is your decision, and that should be respected. We already know how many people are throwing politics into their argument for support, or non-support of the bond.. I do not believe anyone wants a local, or state decision for that matter, to go the way of the madness of childishness, and disrespect that the National Government has system has become.

Let me give you a reason why some of my family in Nederland is not wanting to absorb any more cost. Hurricane Harvey was almost 2 years ago & many people in Nederland are still trying to get their repairs paid for, with, or without insurance. Those who had no insurance are in debt because they cannot sale their property & have nowhere to go, so they are getting loans & trying to get honest contractors to rebuild (Good Luck!) Many who had insurance were not reimbursed enough for their repairs, and are carrying extra loan debt. Those that have insurance are seeing the cost of that insurance going up, even though they were not fairly reimbursed. Not to mention those that have had to replace personal items that were not covered by insurance. Now, as you put it "greed and/or selfishness" is playing no part in those peoples decision to vote "NO" They are just hoping to not have yet another increase in outgoing expenses on top of everything else they are going through. Walk a mile in their "current" shoes & try to understand where they are coming from. Do not group everyone together as a whole. Please do not judge!

Now that's funny! Maybe the school board members could stand on the street corners with coffee cans & signs that say: " A Better NISD is not funny, so SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!"

Hey, old run down facilities makes you work harder for excellence, right? Proven fact in Nederland, Just look at the football field & stands. The opposing teams have to take swimming lessons to play on that slop-house of a field at Bulldog Stadium however, Nederland plays winning football there on a constant basis. The narrow/no legroom seats in the stands cause headaches, knee aches and butt-bump aches for opposing fans, but they still come. Of course, this is due mainly to the 30 minute wait at the bathrooms, which keeps part of the fans cleared out. So take the athletic bond out all together. Nederland is a conservative community, "no change is good for your pocketbook." As far as the school buildings go, all the school kids need education, regardless of their participations in extracurricular activities. It is high time to teach the kids the same premise all prior generations were raised on...Suck It Up & Deal With It! Sadly, the way the educational system is turning, one day there will just be classes in Google, and they can be done from home via the internet. *NOW, if you believe any of this bunk I typed above, you are opposed to the bond election, and basically a supporter of the absolutely no change is necessary because all you need for education is 4 walls of a classroom, right? Time to think of the children in your community that deserve the best, because they work to be the best students. Nederland can take pride in their students & step up with a show of that pride in facilities for those children. It is a tough choice, but one that must be made. May God Bless You & Guide Each of You in Whatever Your Vote May Be!

Hummm, I wonder if the inquire about whether ya'll are Christians are not, is so that PlayActionPass, can judge you more affectively. Oh wait, it is not a Christians job to judge you, or your actions, so never mind. I have family in the Nederland ISd who are opposed to the bond, & some who are in favor. I respect their beliefs, and reasons for their way of thinking, regardless of their personal relationship with our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Back to the discussion of cost, not worship affiliation please.

I thought the big game was the NFL Referees from The NFC Championship vs. Patriots. After all, the referees are who won the Rams vs. Saints game. I am neither a Saints, nor a Rams fan. I am boycotting the Faker Bowl, oh I mean "Super Bowl" this year. I would do so if the Rams had been screwed the same way the Saints were. Wade Phillips had a great season as defensive coordinator for the Rams. He is a great man, whom I appreciate. I am a Patriots hater. However, I hope Brady beats the Rams by 50 points. The team that earned the win in the NFC Championship Game should be in the Super Bowl, not the team the referees prefer to put there. This is the first time I have had no interest in the Super Bowl, because at least one of the two teams should not be there. Wonder what's at the movies on Sunday?

Patriots vs Rams ***SUPER BOWL LIII***

If any of the commercials hit right on the money for their specific product, the referees will probably call commercial pass interference & rule the ad ineligible. -

Newton needs to rely on a quick hit pass, run set-up. Deep throws will be rushed by the hard charging Canadian defense. Get the ball off & out quickly & let that speed run!!! That said, Newton's boys will be in the right mind set when they play this state title game. TIME TO FLY EAGLES!!!

I believe that as many Friday night games in the Central & Eastern part of Texas need to move to Saturday, if at all possible. Otherwise, they may be a swim meets instead of football games.
-
Once again placing the team ahead of the fans, which, by the way is the reason that there is a team. You know, parents, financial support, etc... Very exciting for teams to play at new fancy facilities, very unfair for fans who cannot afford to travel there, at this already financially costly time of year.
