  1. Now the kids know better. That,s how they learn. So glad it is banned. More glad that kids learned why it should be banned. Good job parenting.
  2. Have fun celebrating the game. Not making others ill because of your inconsiderate ignorance spraying powder and chemicals in the air. I simply assume we raised moral, caring children in this area. No wait I assumed we raised football fans, not powder fans.
  3. I personally hate this powder spray ignorance. I have been going to the PNG games for 51 years. My wife and I go to the game to watch football. Not to be forced to leave early because of an asthma attack. The powder needs to go away & stay away from a crowded stadium full of people. If parents have not taught common courtesy to their kids, it's about time they start.
  4. Check out the Port Arthur News Sports Mailbag Letter from Last Week (10/20/16) from a Memorial Fan & (10/27/16) the PNG Fan response on-line today!!! You will have to go to the older tabs to get to the 1st letter. RJ will be a great player & person now & for the future.
  5. Adam Morse was a three year starter at quarterback for PNG. Not much playoff success, but great level headed quarterback.
  6. Should just rename the Stadium "The Zoo". Seems logical! After all it has either Panthers, Jaguars, or Bruins roaming around inside of it most of the time. LOL
  7. Voting is rigged. I just voted & it added 1 for Ned vs PNG, & 29 for the other at the same time.
  8. Never underestimate any opponent. Go in there to execute plays offensively, and shut the opposing team down defensively. 100% all the time! That's how you should play every play, of every game!!!
  9. I assume that Season Ticket Holders will be able to get Ozen tickets on Wednesday, due to the tickets not being available prior to the season starting. I am curious as to whether they will be $5, or $6 dollars pre-sale, since we could not get the tickets with our primary order? Anyone know?
  10. Run Run, Throw Throw, Run Run, Throw Throw. Play hard, work on play options, get the job done!!! Need solid defense performance. Get victory, then worry about Nederland. OZEN FIRST!!!
  11. Cannot be one dimensional in this game. Nederland will find a way to score. We must run & pass effectively to keep the "Dog" defense from keying on anything.
  12. Agreed. Nederland has had our number. Somehow, they find a way against PNG, so you cant count the "dogs" out. PNG must beat Central, and take care of business against Ozen. ONE GAME AT A TIME PLEASE!!!
  13. I believe that means Central is too good to schedule for homecoming. Total respect from this PNG fan. Looking for a great game.
  14. Superintendent has made it clear that if Livingston has extra money, or a bond election passes, that no changes will be made to the football stadium. Livingston loves the fact that the entire fan base of some schools can't come to their games. Interesting logic? Give up football game revenue, for lack of visiting crowd support.
  15. Exactly!!! Intentional assault act. No more football for the season for this kid!!! His coach & parents should insist he not be allowed to play. Not just because he may have been "bonehead" as it was said, but because he sought to "intentionally" injure another player. Suppose that was your kid he stepped on. Would you say, oh it's OK, he just made a mistake? I don't think so!!!
  16. Absolutely intolerable. If coaches don't suspend player for season, then parents should step-in. Is that the reputation that you want your child to have? I would hope not!!!
  17. Agreed. Memorial & Nederland as Division 1, PNG as Division 2. (Hopefully with another game vs. Barbers Hill)
  18. Baseball, softball, soccer & track have good fan bases at PNG. Basketball has never garnered any spirit. Most kids don't care after Little Dribblers. We have had some great players, over the years, however, most concentrate on other sports. I can assure you I am at every PNG home basketball game, & once again have missed very few in my lifetime. Only stopped going to away basketball after I got married. Per wife's request.
  19. Agree completely! Live & Learn.. Hopefully, coaches will see this & adjust for future games.
  20. Agree completely. We have to find a run defense that is effective all the time, not just on & off during the game. That is key to success.
  21. You can work on the short (10-12 yard) passing game repeatedly in practice. Timing, routes, execution. Get that down & you will have that weapon in game play. Let the run work, if it doesn't, throw the short, quick passes to back the defense up & then run some more. In the playoffs, speed will cover speed after the first 2 rounds. That run game & short passing game will eat the clock & win games. Long passes are not going to be there in the later playoff rounds due to quarterback protection times & defense speed. Use the weapons you have to your advantage.
  22. I can tell you that as the generations come up that are totally ME ME ME oriented, that is to say, nothing is more important than themselves & what they want, this will cause less support for anything that is not personal. That goes for school & sport team support, as well. However, don't take the responsibility away from the parents, and community to lead the way in fan support. Just start teaching the younger generations that there are more important things in life than their cell phone & YouTube videos. Get them committed to excellence in their achievements, then they will be supportive of the commitment that those football players put forth every week to play on Friday nights. PNG has & will continue to have, a special spirit that will last well past the fair weather fans of today. Keeping that fan support encourages more participation in sports from the younger kids coming up. THAT IS JUST THE FACTS!!!
  23. THE KEY IS SUPPORT YOUR TEAM & THE BOYS PLAYING EVERY TIME, EVERY YEAR, WIN OR LOSE!!! I have missed a total of 4 PNG games in the 51 years since I went to my first one at 9 months old. I was taught to bleed purple & white. Never leave early, stay to the end. I guarantee that the fan following at PNG is based upon children being raised to believe in that spirit. So I love to see massive fan support on the opposing side. If that team has a winning, or losing season, that support shows quality people & quality fans!!!
  24. Memorial concentrated on the run because it worked. I am a firm believer in running a play until it doesn't work. Memorial kept it simple & ended up with the victory. Good coaching!!!
