It was the PNG people who are only concerned with beating Nederland, and no one else, that put For Sale signs in his yard.  I have stated before that I would take a loss every year to Nederland if it means we can keep going to the playoffs.

Thank you! I’m out of likes but this post says it all. Honestly I think it’s time to move on. Our coach made a bad decision and our kids will have to pay the price....end of story. At the end of the day those boys play hard and have fought hard all season. If this was any other school this thread would have been locked hours ago. 

No, but I can imagine a pissed off BH kid. Stomping down the 3rd level stairs into the Master Living Room Suite, asking the butler to fetch father. 

Amen.  We did not cheat, we broke the rules & are suffering accordingly.  Does not affect our position.  Playoffs are still in sight for this PNG team.

PNG will not look past BH. We need the work against a solid offense and defense to prepare for Nederland.   We will be ready to play Friday. The defense is the key for us.  The defense plays well, we got this.  Defense plays poorly, we can easily give up major points.  I think this will be a great game.  I pray noone else gets hurt, so everyone can go into the last district game as strong as possible.  God watch over all the players on both teams! 

And the officiating crew was somewhat incompetent to put it mildly. 

May have no choice but to pressure the quarterback.  If we lay back cover the receivers, like we did at Dayton, Santa Fe will chew the clock up with short passes & score.  Have to get the defense in quickly to the backfield & pressure the receivers on coverage.  We may get beat a few times deep, but we can punish the QB enough to make him a little cautious when he goes back to pass.  I expect a very close, hard fought game!

However, I am sure that if a band member played his instrument poorly, the band director would be give another musician a chance to play.  Maybe our defensive coordinator could try something like that. I think PN-G should focus on getting an attitude on defense rather than the fightsong - just my perception though.  Fight songs don’t stop the other team from scoring unfortunately, if so they’d be undefeated. 

I agree with the "more evenly matched" position. Looking at it from the PNG perspective: In the old district, we had (give or take the year) Livingston, Lumberton, Baytown Lee, Goose Creek Memorial, and Ozen. These tended to be predictable wins, most years, for PNG. When LCM was in the district, we ALMOST always beat them. Livingston, Lumberton, and Ozen were barely big enough to even be in our district, and are now in the lower classification. Throw in Vidor being a win for PNG in the vast majority of our matchups, and we end up with most district games in the old district being relatively easy wins for PNG.
Some years it was different. Livingston took us to the woodshed in 2011. Vidor got us in 2012. So I'm not saying every year was the same, or that these teams were pushovers. I'm just saying PNG tended to take care of business against most teams in our district, and the scores were often quite lopsided. Then we'd get to the playoffs get hit in the mouth.
In recent years, the mostly respectable teams in our district were Central, Nederland, and PNG, and those teams were more or less guaranteed to make the playoffs. The two years Memorial was in the district were great years, in my opinion, because it increased the competition so much. We no longer had to wait until the playoffs to face playoff competition. Memorial made us better.
Now the district has so much parity. It's a good thing. Yeah, PNG has had to play close games, and we've given up so many points. But the district isn't a cakewalk anymore. Instead of having four-to-five opponents being predictable wins for PNG, none of the games are. It makes it tough for teams to make the playoffs and that meat grinder will help us in the playoffs. Prediction: District 12-5a II will represent well in the playoffs. We're going to have some deep runs out of this district. 

We practice for football games,  not swim meets, oh sorry, mud wrestling.

The teams we have beaten do not have winning records except for Crosby and they just picked up loss #2. Dayton hasn't won a game and they took us down to the wire. If the defense can't get stops at crucial times, and I'm not talking about lights out, just something, then trying to outscore an opponent isn't going to get us far. Out the 3rd round again, if we make it that far. We should have been seeing some kind of improvement by now.
