BISD could just keep the name, change the sign to just say "The Butch"  Everyone who cares about the former superintendent will know who that is, everyone that wants a name change will be happy that Carroll Thomas is no longer on the sign.  Heck, we all call the stadium "The Butch" anyway. Makes no difference to me, I am just happy to play there every now & then.  Hope BISD is smart enough to work this out & the board should let all the taxpayers vote on the name.

Man, whoever is naming things in BISD these days needs to think outside the box a little.  
 
In all honesty, I'm pretty sure that regardless of what they end up naming it, we'll all be calling it the Butch until the end of time.  

Lets blame it on Oprah, she will probably be the next Democratic nominee for president, using her Japanese contacts trying to destroy Trump's reputation. LOL

Can we just start playing ball.Gonna be very exciting this year.Regardless of the outcome,just wanna say good luck to all the teams and especially to all the seniors..It’s grind time fellows!!!!!!

Can’t believe this thread is dying.  I’ll resurrect it with my tongue-in-cheek predictions.
Ned will beat PNG.  To explain this is a conundrum.  It’s like trying to explain the infinity of space.  It’s a bigger problem than the human mind can handle.
Crosby will beat Dayton.  Any newcomers to the Forum, be advised you’ll see a LOT of smack talk based on yesteryears, but it won’t be close.
Barbers Hill’s Superintendent will complain if they have a game on natural grass.  In the first place, he’s a jerk.  And in the second place, he’s still a jerk.
Vidor will play Crosby a very tough, closer than you’d think, game.  Another unexplainable factoid.
Vidor will lead the District in rushing.  Even though the Pirates have a vaunted passing attack, they keep it under wraps.
All visiting Teams should wear mud cleats when playing at Nederland’s Bulldog Stadium . All I can say, it’s a miracle it rains there every Friday.
When PNG and Crosby play, NASA has given the OK for scoreboard operator to use their Super Computer to help total the scores.  Last years official final was 72-69, but after the math squads from both schools went over films, they found it was actually 183-180.  At least the official spread was right.
And my last prediction, Santa Fe probably thinks they’re getting into an easier Distict.  True there are no Manvels, but they’re going to see a bunch of kids that’ll put a helmet on you.

I remember how they kept shaking those things to try and drown out Cherokee, but every time the band played it, they were shaking the ball bearings in beat to Cherokee by the end of the song. It made for a neat effect.

Two most confident picks are Crosby and Baytown Lee. Think Nederland PN-G are capable of winning district and Vidor capable of making the playoffs.

The more I look at this District, the tougher it becomes.  I’ll take a different approach on my predictions.
DC will have at least one loss in District.
At least Two of the playoff teams will have a loss to a team not going to the playoffs.
And last, durn good chance before the 4 playoff teams are decided, there’ll be some serious looking at tie-breakers.  
And those three things say one thing - Gonna be some serious football coming.

As it relates to when a band may play during the game, the NCAA Football Rule Book states: Persons subject to the rules, including bands, shall not create any noise that prohibits a team from hearing its signals (NCAA Rule 1-1-6 and UIL Rule 9-2-1-b-5).
PENALTY—Dead-ball foul. 15 yards from the succeeding spot [S7 and S27]. Automatic first down for fouls by Team B if not in conflict with other rules. Flagrant offenders, if players or substitutes, shall be disqualified [S47]. To assist with compliance, consider the following procedures: • Have the band stop playing from the time the Offense (of either team) breaks the huddle until the ball is snapped. • Or, in the case of Offenses that do not huddle, have the band stop playing from the time the Center on Offense is over the ball until the ball is snapped.

Train horn needs to go. Been to many games and the opposite team sounds the horn on turnovers, touchdowns, field goals, and anything and everything that go right for their team. Since air horns are banned in many places get rid of the train horns.

Also, to make a point, it is just as rude for an opposing band to blast music while the other team is on offense. PNG has been guilty of this in past years,  and other local schools play non- stop under these circumstances. Good luck trying to stop this from happening. I suppose there is a different set of rules depending on what, or who, makes the unsportsmanlike noise/music.

As previously stated that is what fans & bands are for.  Let the people & instruments make the noise.

What about the schools with the fire engine siren and horn?  I wonder do uil have a problem with that?

Rumor I heard this weekend was that Ned will be installing industrial grade fire monitors to more efficiently soak the field pre any game with PN-G. Should save taxpayers some money over time as opposed to rolling out 50 water hoses. 

Selling the naming rights makes the most sense IMO. I’m sure there are plenty of people in setx that would be willing to pay a pretty penny to get their name on that stadium. I’ve never heard of anyone complaining about having too much money, even if the district isn’t in dire need of it. 

That's the way to go. 
Bring in some corporate money, even multiple corporate money, to benefit all the kids in the district financially. 
Example: Welcome to Goodyear/Entergy/Home Depot Stadium. 
 IT IS JUST A NAME!!!
It will not effect the kids playing, the parents supporting & the district benefitting.   It is after all BISD, a school stadium. 
The stadium will always be  "The Butch" to most people.  I could care less if the name is changed.  This is what we will all call it!  It's a name that is easy, quick & familiar.
